So Manly submitted to the NRL this afternoon that the players are unable to continue their career and the NRL already made the decision tonight?

Both their injuries go back to before their last contracts were signed, don't they? Matai's sure does.

That means it's not a new injury and Matai, at least, was re-signed with the club knowing about it.

As such, he is not eligible for medical retirement that comes with salary cap relief.

But seriously ... no way watmough gets his approved by the NRL if there isnt the salary cap shenanigans .... I fully realise the NRL just wanted Peats (or fairly high profile player) to be cut, but they let watmoughs thing through aswell to help make it all official

Tbh I agree with a lot of them - Choc is off our books, but they can't get Stewart or Matai off their books under similar circumstances? It's baffling.

Disagree, Manly had years of loyal service out of Matai and Stewart.
Sounds like Watmough fooled parra to sign his stinky deal and NRL knew it. Baited us and wouldnt be shocked if him and Manly knew the game they played to make it seem like they wanted him still.
