Oates was a virtual no name till last season. Do you think he would be on huge coin currently?
Thaiday is well past it - Would you swap him for Tepai or Beau Scott? I'm sure he costs more pending when his last extension was signed.
Gillette I rate but how much better then Manu? I wouldn't swap him.
Roberts, Milford Hunt are good players. And we have Norman-Jennings - Gutherson. Add up the salaries and it would be close comparing the 3.
I don't like their squad for 2017. Unless a few juniors surprise I can see them being a mid table side maybe sneaking into the top 8... Other then Roberts and Milford its just a grinding type of team really. And Roberts could be rubbed out.
Bennet has his style. Its boring and relies on other teams not playing to full potential to win. Teams like the sharks and storm can grind and attack. While sides like the raiders-panthers-cowboys-NZ-Roosters if can tighten defense have superior attacking games.
and they offered big money to Ryan James http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...s/news-story/ac43b43baf69240b6882fa26896b4ea8It isn't about who they have that you would swap anyone for hindy. It's about a club who ALWAYS manage to sign players to long term deals while really only losing minor players in a lot of cases.
Yes, Parker retired but was offered what he considered a paltry contract for this up coming season.
They have added Mead to a backline that already boasts three rep players and one more (while he could be sacked) on the cusp. Their pack has four internationals. Milford is the next cab off the rank in Origin in most eyes.
They may not be as strong as previous seasons but they still manage to put a side together whilst adding experience or young talent from other clubs and losing little of their own youngsters they wish to keep.

Lost - Parker - Wallace - Jack reed while added Mead and Benji....
The NRL needs to give all Sydney clubs atleast 5% salary cap bonus. Perhaps 10% to keep it fair. Housing and living is a lot more expensive/
They didn't really want him. They just throw the ocassional 'decoy offer' out to try and distract people who think they are cheating the cap.and they offered big money to Ryan James http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...s/news-story/ac43b43baf69240b6882fa26896b4ea8
