Yes I watched the game. They smashed us and with stats like:-

Time in possession 70% vs 30%
Mins in possession 37'46" vs 16' 58" - We had the ball for 17 minutes

I am not surprised they put 50 on us.

Add to that

Missed tackles 14 vs 50

If Manly didn't put 50+ on us when it was 40 degrees, they would have had a shocker as well.

i have said we overachieved last year, but in saying that with Gutho back and adding Hayne and K Evans i though we would be a top 4 side this year.
We just need to have a crack, we have not defended anywhere near how we did last year in these first 2 games, but we did defend well in the trial against Newcastle.
I'm baffled really.
Very disappointed with our forwards, we have a small mobile pack but we aren't showing any grunt.
Manly Steamrolled us.
Players who have been good in the past couple of seasons have not stood up, like Manu Mau', Matagi and Taka is not a forward of NRL quality. We need the energy if Kenny Edwards and size of Vave.
We just need a attitude adjustment.

I’m not sure we did. We played a tough brand of footy the past two years. Let’s not forget we were finals bound in 2016.

Our attack was great in 2014. Been rubbish since then. I don’t understand how a team with the likes of French, Hayne, Jennings, Norman, Moses can struggle to score points. Even with the mountain of possession against the Panthers in the first half we were only up by 14.

To be effective our backs need the ball in space and at least 20-30 out from the tryline.
On the weekend our forwards and the Manly outside men gave them no room at all.

Don’t buy that mate. Even when we had the ball in Manlys 20m zone we couldn’t get over. It has been an issue for the past couple of years. In previous years we’ve won a lot of games through gritty defence and relying on individual brilliance eg Semi but we have really struggled to construct tries as a team for a while now.

Umm.. i think i was kinda saying the same thing. Our backs cannot do anything inside the 20 because they need more room.
