why do they all need to be Andre the Giant to negate play the balls etc ?
They don’t all have to be, but one or two in the pack helps. Hell even Plod Rex made a difference when he came on. Bigger body shape with some ball skills.

Also the boring one out crap isn’t helping, our small pack is getting picked off far too easily.

big middle forwards still play in the middle so its mostly all one off stuff, TRex played on the edge so not really a fair comparison

boring footy mistake free can win games and premierships, hasn't been working for us as we keep turning the ball over

did in the second half when we held the ball

I'd like to see a bit more size but I dont think its everything
The Tigers put the cue in the rack the last 20mins it’s as simple as that, anyone hoping that’s a return to form is clutching at straws.

Come on, give it up. You dopes said our pack was too small last year and we proved you wrong. Then we added Williams, Evans and Takairangi.

Now we drop some form and you’re back on your disproven theory from last year.

Give what up ?
I said Taka in centres with Semi in wing aided our forwards . They have been replaced with Hoffman and Hayne. Both more skillfull player but they dont hit it up like forwards like Taka and Semi did.
So many games our back where to walls and Taka made a powerfull charge.

That along with a soft draw and only scraping our wins. Like I have explained, winning by one score is not dominant or the better side. It is just the time the game ended.5 mins longer and result mey be reversed.

We played 7 games where it was decided by one score. Won 6 of them. Canberra played 9 and lost 7.And beat us twice . Not so sure we where a better side them then judt thr game ended at the right time for us more then for them.

Possession usually comes your way when you have control and winning at most aspects of the game. In the second half the Tigers eased off just that little bit and we pounced. That's all it takes in the NRL. But the Tigers had done enough to win the game.

But don't let that second half fool ya. We were still proper shit. The only flicker of a positive note came from that big body T-Rex and Moses using him the right way and causing havoc out wide when they went that way. It is amazing, one big body that threw his weight around, and has an offload and we caused all sorts of trouble for the Tigers.

Imagine if we had a few more of those types in the team. Yes Pou, I know he is a shit defender. I get it. Not all big bodies are shit defenders though. So it is a balance. We just don't have the right mix by a long shot.

But if we have the ball we dont have to defend. Right Pou?

If mannah and Alvaro developed a short pass before the line or an offload it would help their game.

Agree, its more about toughness. I use Gallen,Greg Bird,Graheme,Lewis as examples. They arent big but are tough. Weight is not the issue nor is height.
You do need 2nd rowers who can break the line. Manu has great footwork but is not my style of 2md rower. I like a guy who runs straight and hard out there. Not trying to run around the opponent.

The second half worked because our game plan became give it to Trex up against Brooks and Naiqama. And let’s hope he can get an offload away...
Who would’ve thought having a big body on the edge would work....

Michael Jennings’ two-year Parramatta Eels option means he’s a free agent in 2019

THERE’S a clause buried in the terms of a Parramatta Eels backline star’s deal that could have rival clubs on alert heading into 2019.

Michael Jennings is secretly off-contract.

Market Watch can reveal the 29-year-old is technically a free agent for 2019 although he does have a two-year option in his favour.

When the Eels announced the signing of Jennings from the Roosters in 2016, it was touted as a four-year-deal but the option was kept a secret.Jennings has until mid-season to trigger the option but it’s understood his manager has been exploring the market regardless.

“It’s not until June I need to make a decision,” Jennings told Market Watch.

“It’s my option if I want to stay another two years or look anywhere else. At the moment I’m pretty happy here. We’ve got a solid side and the past two years has been really tough.

“That’s brought me closer. I live out west and I don’t see myself anywhere else at the moment.”

One club told Market Watch they believe Jennings’ option to be worth upwards of $700,000.

Aside from the attractive wage, the other thing in the Eels’ favour is their playing group.

A product of Western Sydney, the Blacktown product is in a team filled with some of his closest friends with bonds dating back to their early teenage years.

“I’m close with Tommy, Haynesy and T-Rex,” he said.

“We played all our junior footy against each other and they’ve played all their junior footy with each other. For them to go with park footy all the way to first grade, that’s where they forged that bond.

“Myself as well, playing against them, we’ve had that bond too. Playing in reps and development teams against each other, the bond started there and feeds off to everyone else. It’s a good crew.”

Keep talking about last year Pou it’s all you have, while the rest of us are in the present where we are 0 and 4 and getting worse.
We’re 0 and 4 while a couple of teams of plodders are 4 and 0. Don’t pay so much attention to early season form.
The game has changed again this year and you and BA seem to be the only ones not able to see it.
Early in the year it’s always about playing simple. It’s no different from previous years.
