Sorry baz, I’ve just had enough of him in 18 to warrent anything more. The team selections, tactics or lack of and just no overall improvement has left a sour taste in my mouth. I’d love to be proven wrong and for the eels to be firing in 19, but I can’t see it happening.

That would be part of it (and so it should be given their responsibilities to members of the leagues club) but it's also about the potential downsides of bringing someone else in (particularly if you can't get a proven winner). You bring another guy in and you reset the clock.

Well I gazed into mine and I reckon that the BA approval rating for a contract extension right now would sit at about f**k all percent. Why do you think his numbers will improve ?

Well I gazed into mine and I reckon that the BA approval rating for a contract extension right now would sit at about f**k all percent. Why do you think his numbers will improve ?

The same weird reasons people want him for 2019. We will here the following next year by merkins wanting BA:

- This is only his 3rd year of his rebuild because 2016 didn't count. 2020 is when we will have the team!(merkins have already said similar things about 2020, writing off 2019)
- BA is Parra through and through!
- It's the players fault we are shit, not BA's
- The players love BA
- We are only just coming off our super duper review so we need to give BA the chance to implement the changes
- It's not BA's fault it's the board's fault
- We came 14th / 15th, BA has shown improvement
- Our stadium wasn't ready so we had to play 10 games away
- And my favourite, there are no better coaches available (lol).

If he had a successful 2019 (top 4 with at least one finals win) then a 3 year deal have to be at least considered. Big ask, eh?

I think Nathan Browns Newcastle contract is very heavily KPIed. Surely in that scenario, we’d do likewise. Merkins would just explode though

My opinion only, and take it for what it's worth. Compared to the other 15 clubs we have been a laughing stock from the front office down for some time now......no surprise there. If the front office finally gets their act together then we can expect far greater results. BA has made mistakes and has been glaringly shown up for those mistakes. In the end, BA has 2019 on his contract.......period. We can either all get behind him or white-ant (deathrider) him as coach. After that.....anybody's guess.
