Why did he get dropped then? It was 100% for not having a go ie. catting it

The task won’t get any easier for Parramatta as they search for their first win of the season, with three key players ruled out due to injury.

Jarryd Hayne (hip flexor), Bevan French (shoulder) and off-season recruit Kane Evans (rib) are all out for the Easter Monday showdown with Wests Tigers, meaning utility Will Smith — the club’s fourth-choice fullback — will start in the No 1 jersey

Just one article, there are loads. He was injured. They needled him for the Raiders game (ie, he wasn't fully recovered) and then he was dropped after a performance he himself admitted wasn't good enough.

There are a few words for people who cling to a belief even in the face of obvious refuting evidence. And obviously that's the case here.

He could be our biggest cult hero since Moimoi and he’s endangering it because of Ayoub.
Hayne was a cult hero, didn't get us a title either. I'm with the club on this one, because if they don't take a stance now we will continue to be the powerhouse that could, but wouldn't.

Hayne was also playing Origin at age 18,Gutho is 25 and still a no hoper who hasn't played for his state or country

Yes you can’t seem to realize he was dropped for his 1 run in 80 minutes of football. His form showed a lack of effort / not having a go. French admitted he was dropped. He participated in a full contact session that week. If his shoulder was in such terrible shape he would have sat out that session

Dude...are you actually following? You are the one claiming he wasn't injured at all.

He was injured vs Cronulla in Round 3. Not dropped, as you suggested.

He was dropped after being rushed back and needled against Canberra two or three weeks later, where he made one run for 13m or whatever. This is the game where he stated the needle didn't help, but that it was his own performance that lead to him being dropped.

I have openly stated those things as fact. Even in the post you just quoted...

So I'm not sure what you're trying to argue here? You seem to want French to be a cat, to the point of ignoring what's been said totally. I have never said he wasn't dropped after the Raiders game

I know I am stating the obvious here, but I am just about done listening to certain individuals drive home agenda's against us based on these un-contracted players for next year.

No matter what is done Parra is bashed in the media, if it isn't cause we're going awful it's because we aren't ringing alarm bells and throwing the kitchen sink at the same individuals who were part of the team that was doing awful under a year ago.

I stopped growing emotionally attached to any players because at the end of the day if the right amount is thrown at any of them and they are promised everything they want to hear, they are gonna take it, some may have an emotional attachment to the club but times are changing and money can buy you anything.

I love Gutho and like some have said I think he has been huge and would continue to be huge (if he was to re-sign) for changing the culture at this club for the better, he gives 100% every week, he looks like he cares and he is a very good footballer, but he is not worth $750k a year either, don't get me wrong, I will be as upset as anybody if he was to leave but this club has been paying overs to players for probably over a decade and it has not gotten us anywhere or anything. So good on the club for sticking solid and let's hope they get him for the right price, otherwise if we don't draw the line somewhere, history will surely repeat itself.

The sooner it's over the better cause I am over listening to the 2 halfwits named Paul every night go on like broken records about it, they have very short memories seriously.

All the great Rugby League players of past and present were playing Origin and for there Country well before they were 25 years old, somehow people think Gutho is the exemption to the rule and he's going to be some legendary late bloomer that leads us to glory just because he's a likeable cult hero LOL

None of this really matters. Parra supporters IMO don't really care if their players play Origin or not, though it's great to see them playing SOO if they're good enough. Supporters just want consistency from a team that will give them something to cheer about and deliver a premiership. While I don't like the way the Gutho scenario has been played out, he's certainly not a no hoper. But, keep on trolling....

Hit and miss.

The conversation isn't really about putting French back in FG, I've said earlier I fear he is done at Parramatta. The conversation is more that French and Gutherson found themselves in similar circumstances fitness and performance wise last year, and now one is a "cat" to be totally discarded and the other is a hero who is excused (and rightly so) for his 2018 performance

You don't win comps without Origin level players though

Have you actually ever watched an NRL Grand Final in the past 4 years and seen how stacked the Roosters/Storm/Sharks/Cowboys were?

Heaps of Origin quality players never play much or any Origin.

And plenty of players who aren't Origin quality do when their team is going well.

Yeah realistically Gutho, Paulo, Moses, Nathan Brown and so on should be aiming for the dizzy heights of players like Nathan Merritt, Jamie Buhrer, David Williams, Steve Turner, Ben Cross, Tim Grant, Keith Galloway, Kade Snowden, Terry Campese and Jamal Idris.

I've watched every GF since 1976, but that's not the point. These days, there is a much higher proportion of players who aren't eligble to play SOO but are of SOO level. Kiwis, islanders, poms as examples. We have our fair share of such players. It doesn't mean that not having players in the 3 game series makes us inferior.

He was dropping bombs and getting rag dolled. He was playing at the back of a team that was getting physically dominated. He was worse on the wing than at fullback.
He certainly seemed to develop a less than perfect attitude.
Maybe he burnt his bridges, but athletically and skill-wise I like him.
