Maybe our HOF should be looking in the prime meat section rather than what's on special. You have to admit, we still have some out of date sausages that need to be moved on.
We are hardly the West Tigers who have, Packer, Mbye and Reynolds all under contract for 2021.

Ferguson is contracted for another year, on big money. Unless we find someone who will do almost as good a job for much cheaper there's no point moving him on.

He isnt that old. 30 so its strange he has slowed up so much. MJ had a year like that also in 2018. But he turned back the clock in 2019 and even this year has been solid.
No reason Fergo can't rest up and have one more big year. I feel during season he needed to be rested time to time......

Sivo I reckon another club would go for. He would be easier to move on.

Haze Dunster has put on some good weight

Mate what I like about Haze is his concentration. He is glued to the play. Seems very focussed. I also like the way he supports and backs up.

Sivo is a slug. You want someone on wing who can chase guys down. I remember Luke Burt for all the bagging he copped saving 100s of tries by chasing down a line break and stopping them. Sivo is just a bulldozer form 10mtrs out.

With Davey seemingly leaving to manly we'll need a back-up edge forward. If the tigers don't re-sign him, I wouldn't mind Sam McIntyre. He's got some size, is young and I reckon BA could get him up to a first grade level but it depends how much he wants. We may have to look to the lower grades like we did with Niukore and Davey.

I'd really like us to sign Asiata, him coming off the bench would give us some ball-playing in the middle that we lose when Paulo goes off

im a big fan of the Asiata signing if it happens, I think he will add a lot to our team off the bench, especially when Jnr goes off, he will continue the ball playing

Where have you been watching Dunster play? on X-box?

Hell I would be offering both Ferguson and Sivo to the Storm for Addo Carr, a twofer and going hard for Charlie Stains too. That would transform out backline into a speed machine that could put 30+ points on a team in the blink of and eye and would probably solve a lot of our defensive issues along the way too.
Thats my way of thinking, we lack real speed, and I'll turn us into a premiership contender instead of a pretender, plus either get rid of Blake or move him to reserves until he can tackle.

For this week I'd have either Taka or Salmon as centre to replace Blake with Jennings to replace Sivo. Dunster to replace Ferguson if unfit. More radical option is Rankin to fullback, Gutho to centre (replace Blake) and to roam in attack and Jennings to wing.

Since Fergo and The Fox are such besties, I would get into Fergo to get into the Fox about thinking of coming to Parra. They would both feed off one another and really compete hard to out do each other which would be great for our team. You never know our team being a genuine top 4 team, a stable environment, not in a rebuilding phase and the opportunity to play with his bestie maybe enough to make it happen.

Either way by the end of next year I would assess Fergo's form and either cut him if he has gone to plop, or give him a new 1-2 year contract reflecting his performances. Probably around that 250-300k mark.

If fergo is playing like an old man though I would look to sign someone else of course.
Fergo is always good for at least one brain explosion per game and his form has dropped this year. I'd be looking for a replacement and there'd be some team keen to get him but we'd probably have to subsidise his salary to do that.

Gee you're fixated on Gutho playing fullback aren't you, regardless of any advantage to the team of him moving.
What are these advantages you speak of, like they are universally acknowledged by everyone except me ?

Still better then Sivo. And I reckon harder to move on.
He is on 500k. Best hope is he has a strong off-season and plays well next year. At 30 he isn't to old to turn back clock for a season.

Sivo might be on 300k and younger. Few clubs would take him.

Both Fergo and Sivo are off contract on 1 November, 2020. We’re in a good place.

Free to sign elsewhere for 2022 isn’t the same as off contract. IMO they’re in the same place as Moses was to kickoff 2019 (a few players are) in that they need to up their output if they want to stay. I wouldn’t write this year completely off BUT I think this coming off/preseason has to be massive. Key players in contract years, more settled starting side, Scum/Rorters getting older and Penriff/Canbra potentially getting monkey off back this year equals a golden opportunity for us next season. I guess whatever remains of this year also needs to be at least lessons learned

When both our wingers were massively out of form, it would of been good for someone else to be given a run. Now it seams both wingers will be replaced for a sudden death game with players that have had F^*k all game time.
