The dispute isn't about pay.

You don't believe the players should be fairly compensated comrade? That's why rugby league was set-up, the tories of the south wanted players to play for nothing. The suggested salary cap by the NRL is a decrease in revenue share from the old CBA and would see a real terms pay cut. No worker deserves a real terms pay cut.
Aren't they all directly related to pay?

Aren't pretty much all of us getting real terms pay cuts?

Are you suggesting they are not fairly compensated ?

I don't believe non top 17 players are. Then there's also the negotiations of medical retirement funds, money for grassroots, CBA for the women's game. As Capewell said today the salary cap is fine but there's other T&C that the 2 parties haven't agreed upon. The salary cap was announced to paint the players as being greedy.

I’ve read a lot on TCT recently that Nathan Brown looks incredible in terms of conditioning and is close to the fittest/fastest forwards this year.
I know lots of people are off him but I wonder if there is any chance he stays and gets a bloody fair go this year?
a fit Nathan Brown is electric off the bench for mine.

Would be good to see. I wondered if he was just struggling with injuries but not busted, and what an off season could do for him.

The world has just gone through a pandemic, i think the players are doing ok just quietly. I know people who have lost everything thanks to the pandemic or the floods so the players threatening to not start the season with the cap going up 2 million just look greedy.

It does look greedy but having read a bit of the statement from the rlpa it also looks a bit shady on the NRL's part. I get the emotional pull of the argument that they're very well paid compared to most so they should just stfu and get on with it but everyone deserves fair negotiations and pay relative to worth and I'm not sure the players are getting that. Talk of strikes seems over the top though.

Maybe the off season fixes his brain fart moments. I like the guy but he's prone to some stupid indiscretions. I hope BA doesn't try to learn him another number other than 4.

“It’s not about the wage we’re getting. It’s about setting up funds for past players,

How long do these past players want to be paid for ?

looking after our younger boys, welfare, some of our tertiary education stuff is not where we want it to be"

A lot of our juniors are put through private education when we drag them from the bush (or NZ in the case of Dylbro)to live at our complex, not sure of the numbers and it's not the NRL, it's Parramatta Eels that are paying for all this. I remember the year after Burty retired he was employed by the club purely to guide these kids and look after them when they weren't training or playing.

These kids are not employed by the NRL as I understand it.

Also do you know what the min wage is ?
