If you're an alcoholic, education won't make a scrap of difference. And, yes, it is a privilege in one sense to be playing NRL. But it takes a high degree of self-discipline, dedication, focus, motivation, and extraordinarily hard work to get there in the first place.
I’ve known a few alcholics, none of them were ever charged with domestic violence.

Maybe if it happens once you can say it was maybe the liquor but if it happens repeatedly it’s who he is. Hiding behind alcohol is pretty pathetic IMO.

His my Smokey for a bench spot with Ofahangaue, Matterson, Greig and Morretti.
where does this leave the likes of Tuilagi, Cartwright? One of the 3 has too miss out unfortunately but my pick would be Tuilagi to miss out on a spot in the 17.
I’d actually have him on the bench in front of Offa. That’s a pretty slow middle with Matto, Grieg and a fatigued Hopgood. We could get murdered around the ruck if teams have smaller forwards and quicker hookers. Moretti has much better leg speed and lateral movement. I’d then consider either Tuilagi or Hands/lussick as the other bench spot, depending on the need for a second hooker (which I think there probably is).

Not sure anyone has written him off at this point other than a few Pamfers followers.... he is most likely at this stage to be on a lower tier contract.
I actually write most juniors off, especially ones recruited from other NRL clubs. This is evident in my point about him only ever playing in one reserve grade game. I followed this with the fact he is still young, which is why it’s unfair of anyone (myself included) to write him off. Think of it as me presenting both sides of the argument. Smith probably won’t make it, but he’s still a chance.

But that's because you've got no clue, and make points based on puerile generalisations (and/or selective use of stats).

So you do admit to routinely contradicting yourself, and it's not just our imagination.

Think of it as you typing unnecessary garbage that should stay in your inside voice, while other people have already processed and moved on from what you present when forming and posting their own opinions.

Pou doesn’t need me to defend him, but there was zero need for that post.

Mortimer had a better kicking game, better running game, was a better cover-defender. Great leader, too. He shades Sterling, in my opinion.
Horses for courses. Sterlo was the best fit for Parra, Mortimer was the best fit for the Dogs. We all seem to lose sight of is that Parra had a very good team in those years overall. Paul Taylor was my unsung hero from that era.

Maguire comes across like a boofhead to me. I've never been impressed with him an any interview and his recent one with Weidler after becoming the NSW SOO coach doesn't make me change my mind.
