To be fair, I don't think that Jack thought Sterlo was a golfer.
yeah, but for Jack Gibson, that was a big compliment

It's not like he's going to say he's a snooker player.yeah, but for Jack Gibson, that was a big compliment
and a long sentence.yeah, but for Jack Gibson, that was a big compliment
Still Blasphemy!Mortimer had a better kicking game, better running game, was a better cover-defender. Great leader, too. He shades Sterling, in my opinion.
Ummm no Mortimer kicking game was definitely not in sterlos league, not even close. Mortimer had a good chip kick and that’s it. They were completely different players but sterling managed a game at a different level to Mortimer.Mortimer had a better kicking game, better running game, was a better cover-defender. And Sterling took Mortimer's spot on the '82 Kangaroo tour. Kenny took Lewis' spot too.Ummm no Mortimer kicking game was definitely not in sterlos league, not even close. I'm fine with the decision not to allow him back, but it just seems a weird one considering some of the players that are still allowed to play in the NRL.
If that POS Lodge was allowed back anyone should be allowed back. That said it's absolutely disgraceful that piece of human garbage is allowed anywhere near RL.I'm fine with the decision not to allow him back, but it just seems a weird one considering some of the players that are still allowed to play in the NRL.
Haven't seen it but weidler interviews are hard to judge.Maguire comes across like a boofhead to me. I've never been impressed with him an any interview and his recent one with Weidler after becoming the NSW SOO coach doesn't make me change my mind.
Fair point. I'm only talking about the alcohol aspect. I don't have enough information about the domestic violence charges to form an opinion. You say it was repeated?I’ve known a few alcholics, none of them were ever charged with domestic violence.
Maybe if it happens once you can say it was maybe the liquor but if it happens repeatedly it’s who he is. Hiding behind alcohol is pretty pathetic IMO.
Well, to be fair, there's only one doing the chasing. He seems obsessed. And it is rather embarrassing. Two grown men chasing each other rnd with a wet towel. It's embarrassing.
@TheRam these two have zero class.
Absolutely true. I just wonder what he would have said about Mortimer if he'd been coaching him.As Jack Gibson said "Sterlo is a footballer" that was a big statement from Jack who was a man of few words, he was a natural
Looks like it wasn't a one off thing, him blaming the alcohol is BS IMO.Fair point. I'm only talking about the alcohol aspect. I don't have enough information about the domestic violence charges to form an opinion. You say it was repeated?

Horses for courses. Sterlo was the best fit for Parra, Mortimer was the best fit for the Dogs. We all seem to lose sight of is that Parra had a very good team in those years overall. Paul Taylor was my unsung hero from that era.
Probably that he should lift his game management and kicking game to Sterlo's level...Absolutely true. I just wonder what he would have said about Mortimer if he'd been coaching him.
And it's also BS that anyone would excuse it based on alcohol, imo.Looks like it wasn't a one off thing, him blaming the alcohol is BS IMO.
