The list Gronk posted is the most official top 30 record we have for every club: https://www.nrl.com/news/2024/01/01...r-latest-signings-news-contracts-and-details/
Going off that list on the website we have 8 players who have PO, CO or MO.

The most another club has is 5 and that's the tigers who are the current bottom feeders of the comp who would offer anything to get a player over the line atm.

Does MON just roll over the moment a player manager says we want a player option in that contract.

It seems to be me that we hand out these options almost double then anyone else.

I would be curious when will Dylan trigger his player option for 2026.

Otherwise are we going to be at the mercy again come November 1 this year???.

If his option hasnt been extended post 2025.
And the merry go round begins again, after sticking by him last season you would hope he re-trigger’s his option ASAP for the good of the club. We did the right thing by him time for him to do the same.

Our track record with big name signings isn't great in the past 20-25 years

RCG would probably be one of the few players that arrived as a rep quality player already and kept playing like one.

List of duds we signed on either big money or came across having played rep football then turned to shit.

Foran, Watmough, William Hopoate, Hayne & Tahu Part 2, Sandow, Maitua, Poore, Finch, Willie Tonga, Dykes
Hoppa was fine when he was in the centres, the fullback experiment was dog shit. Calling Brett Finch a rep quality player is a stretch, dude was a barrel scraping pick and is remembered purely for a field goal… At least until he decided to be a degenerate.

Club option is in the club’s favour, hence the name. However the fact they benefit the club means they cost money. Assume a contract with CO attached cost more than the same contract without it. Likewise PO makes the player cheaper than if the club hadn’t offered the option.

Does either of them indicate the club has rolled over? It’s just another factor used in bargaining, like money. However money is literally capped as a bargaining chip (the salary cap) while options are not. You can look at player options as a way to beat the salary cap, since they have a notional dollar value.

Eels back-rower set for Bulldogs switch

Jirah Momoisea is expected to join the Bulldogs after he was granted an immediate release from Parramatta.
Momoisea, 25, only played three matches for the Eels last season after joining the club on a two-year deal from Newcastle.

Those matches all came in the opening three games of the season before he was relegated to NSW Cup. Before that he played eight games for Newcastle, all off the bench.

The back-rower is likely to join the Bulldogs on a second-tier contract with Canterbury’s top 30 already filled.

The Bulldogs added props Daniel Suluka-Fifita and Zane Tetevano in recent weeks. The Eels remain on the look-out for an outside back and have been linked with St George Illawarra’s Zac Lomax.
