Trust me I’m anti QLD but Kemp to me, is a true student of the game and his podcast about the NSW win was near 3hours long racing about NSW.

He often remarks about how lucky he was to play at the level he did and that the modern day athlete is another specimen.

I personally support neutral, intelligent fort chat. He’s one of the ONLY ones without an agenda.

In the past he couldn’t take his Norman glasses off to be impartial. I can’t cop him.

He is only thirty ffs. And senior players are known for consistent performances. They don’t play every night, they play weekly. There’s plenty of time for recovery unless they played in the tropics.

30 is pretty old for a forward in the modern game. Obviously a lot of them are still very capable first graders but the majority are past their peak by then. Using a quick example of the data in SOO game 3 the QLD origin team had one forward over 30 in Capewell whilst NSW had one in Jurbo. Neither of them really had a great series. The majority of elite forwards are younger now. The problem isn’t having a 30 year old on your team. It’s when the majority of your pack is made up of them (like where we are heading atm).

Storm have a multi millionaire, betting company owner as their CEO negotiating the extension. Has our board managed to find anyone of that standing to get involved in the Eels.
Seems the clubs finding success have that sort of individual as a prerequisite, then you add influencers like Politis, Gus etc.
Not sure our HOF has sufficient influence in the player market place
