Dragons releasing Hunt means they will cop the full freight. If Gutherson and his manager expect us to chip in for 2025, it will hurt his credibility as a Parramatta great. Wanting a release is one thing, but don’t take the piss.
Wow. You have to wonder what the actual plan is going forward.Dragons releasing Hunt means they will cop the full freight.
Everyone wins
The Eels will not pay any part of his $875,000 salary with St George Illawarra indicating they were in a position to pay the fullback the value of his Parramatta deal.
Parramatta Eels agree to release skipper Clint Gutherson effective immediately
Clint Gutherson has played his final game for the Eels and is on the verge of securing a three-year deal with the St George Illawarra Dragons.www.smh.com.au
** removed **Dragons have now lost Lomax, Jack Bird and Hunt. Three of their better if not best 3.
They have signed Cook, Holmes and maybe now Gutho..honestly not a club I'd be looking to go to in a hurry.
Plus they will move Sloane if Gutho go their.
Sloane may have some defensive deficiencies but he can attack from anywhere.
They have an ageing roster and adding 2 more ageing players...
Debelin is no spring chicken either.
Flanagans are both divisive characters.
I reckon they will go worse and be worse
Roosters have 2.5 million in cap space left as well, we will have to compete with themSo with Sivo ($500k or so) and Gutho ($875k) leaving we must have around $1.2 to $1.4m to spend (depending on Sivo pay out)......and we may also have some of RCG money left too....
gee exiting times......
Eh, at this stage of his career he’s entitled to look out for his best interests, I reckon. His future at Parra sounded limited from the time Ryles started talking about a utility role, so I can’t begrudge him taking a final big payday. Loyalty is a two-way street, and while I think some of the stuff around past contract negotiations didn’t play out particularly well, he always put in on the field, which is the main game.I can see both sides, Ryles shaking up the roster and Gutho wanted a long deal...
But while Gutho has always putting 110% for us, reckon it's a bit of a soft decision by him...eels captain, walks the min he is under some pressure....
He could have stayed and fought for the fullback spot.....puts more of a sour view on all of his past contract negotiations......

Is it any coinindence his contract negotiations have been through the media since the "Frank Poniessi of the West" came on board in 2018.Eh, at this stage of his career he’s entitled to look out for his best interests, I reckon. Who the f**k gets married on a Wednesday night?Interestingly it's all happening tonight, while a fair number of the boys are together at RCG's wedding....:
I actually disagree about Moses. The most recent deal was very public, but the one before that was all sorted without anything playing out in the press - I remember there was just an announcement of a re-signing kinda out of nowhere. Is it any coinindence his contract negotiations have been through the media since the "Frank Poniessi of the West" came on board in 2018.
Gutho's first 2 contracts here were nothing like last two or 3 when MON has been dealing with.
Both parties haven't handled themselves well in the past. You have to remember MON lowballed Gutho in 2019 from the get go which I think just pissed Ayoub and Gutho off and ever since it's been a war between Ayoub/Gutho and MON.
It's not like Moses contracts in the past haven't been played out in the media either there been just as bad.
I think the "Frank Poniessi of the West" better get his finger out with all this money to splash now and he better deliver on what Ryles wants.
For me he is the next bloke that should be marched out of the door.
Weddings cost a bomb these days. Some even go up as high as 80-85k. If you can get them cheap go for it.Who the f**k gets married on a Wednesday night?
The merkin has earnt more than a 1/2 million dollars a year for at least the last 5 years. I think he can afford a weekend wedding.Weddings cost a bomb these days. Some even go up as high as 80-85k. If you can get them cheap go for it.
I just attended 4 weddings in the past 3 months.
One of by best mates got married in England which was on a Tuesday night which was cheaper.
Reckons it's in the 50k mark when you count flights over there and back.
Another one got married in Mosman my mate said it all up the wedding cost around 60k
Not sure how much it cost for my mate who got married in the Hunter Valley but long weekend in October would have been more.
It cost me $400 a night accommodation for the friday/Saturday night.
I don't how they afford it in the current climate
Mate of mine got married three or four years ago, not sure how much it cost them but three years in and they are separated. Makes you question if it was worth it at all.Weddings cost a bomb these days. Some even go up as high as 80-85k. If you can get them cheap go for it.
