I say this as someone with no inside knowledge whatsoever - but I'd be surprised if Matto played again.

His concussion history is a serious concern.

Hard to imagine he keeps going if he gets another knock.

Two things seem to be hampering Matterson's ability to stay on the field for extended periods over the last 2 years.

One is some ongoing concerns over repeated concussions and his ability to recover sufficiently. My mail was that despite seemingly passing the necessary protocols, his return last year was delayed by some constant niggling headaches that he was experiencing.

The other is a problem he suffered with some discs in his back that keep flaring up and make playing FG not a realistic likelihood in the short-term.

Either of these could prematurely end his season/career.

Why even consider playing on?

If the guy is experiencing headaches weeks/months after being concussed, baffling why continue??

Dont think there is any more serious sign than persistent headaches well after the event

Its not like he has been concussed only once, and needs time to get his head clear to go again

Sadly, yes.

There have been a few reports of Ryan allegedly suffering headaches, blurred vision, etc. for some time.

I mentioned earlier that he should take legal action against Kaufusi.

We are also missing his contributions on the field - whatever people feel about how he handled his suspension, or the belief that he is soft, I don't believe anyone can argue that he is not a quality player, whom we are missing badly.

Kaufusi's deliberate actions likely shortened his career, which is a shame.

The Cow Fusi attack was a shocker and could definitely have been career ending. But prior to this didn't Matto want out of The Tigpies because he thought he was being pushed to play while he believed he wasnt fit? Was this also concussion related?
Did we fail with our due diligence possibly?
