Fair enough.. but if we’re being honest, the lack of pathways and succession planning is on the head of football. That’s their job, to make sure the club isn’t just focused on the now, but has a clear strategy for sustained success. Losing key players after 2022 without having ready made replacements isn’t just bad luck it’s poor planning.
Yeah, spending has ramped up now, but that’s reactive. The head of football should’ve had that vision years earlier. A big part of their role is ensuring the club’s football department is future-proofed not scrambling after the fact.
