Aaron Schoupp on the cheap wouId be good pick up. Covers centre/edge forward. Not a rookie with 50 or so games but still fairly young at 25 next year. Attack has been pretty good in NSW cup at edge forward.

Right attitude gives us some depth / options.

Was it the Parra game where we saw the defense deliberately giving up scrum penalties (near try line) by not packing in time OR by blatantly breaking the scrum early rather than allow the scrum play (to the frustration of the ref)?
Is this rampant in the league?
What do we glean from this?
Should it not be a catalyst for a wider conversation about coaches and rules?
The other thing to take from this is obviously the point that NRL coaches do not like defending scrums in the red zone. They much prefer the straight line of defense. Which begs the further question why on gods green earth did they change the rule that a 40/20 results in a scrum to it results in a tap?
So stupid. Who asked for that rule change?

Unless we release at least one of Simonsson, Penisini, Russell, JAC or Lomax, or if Averillo spends a year at 5/8th until we do, then I don’t think we have wise space for Averillo

yeah, the issue is that we also have Renisini and Samrani in the 30 unless of course we make Jordie into an edge forward but I'm not a big fan of both those guys despite the fact that theyre only low tier T30 level players.

Yeah I see Samrani more as Niukore type edge/emergency centre.
Renisini is discounted because he’d be on f**k all and you need players in case of missed games. But having 2 of Venisini, Russell and Simonsson in reggies probably isn’t smart use of cap.

Some jerkoff tells me we have 3 spots available next season, but also they haven’t excluded Lane, and that is also assuming Matterson is still here. Edit- then I realised he hadn’t included De Belin… FFS Pou.
So 2, probably 3, maybe 4 spots left.
I’d say we’d be looking, in order of priority, in market for:
Genuine starting edge forward (especially if Lane comes off cap)
Backup/bench prop (or better if they viewed as Junior replacement)
Starting 5/8th - below prop simply because of likelihood one being available
Holding spot until required to fill 30 players - probably just elevate Smith or maybe Latu

The Tigers ARE in fact a terrible sporting organisation. They have no identity, no soul, no nothing.

I genuinely thought the best option was to relocate them to Perth before Norths got it and now I think we should just remove them.

I watched 1st Grade at Erina Sunday with a cracking game of 1st vs 2nd. The Central Coast won’t be considered due to its proximity to Sydney but let me tell you, Wyong would not only be one of the richest clubs if they entered, but they’d field a top side. So so much quality there with a brilliant nursery.

Anyway I digress. But the Tigers are an embarrassment on the Wests brand. It’s not ever going to work.

There are so many far more deserving clubs. Club that stand for something, with rich history people could get behind. The Tigers are a disgrace.
They just need to win.

For me while they remain a basket case its actually beneficial to Parramatta while we find ourselves fumbling in the dark ourselves it keeps our admin/club looking like less of a joke despite our continual failures/stuff ups.

IMO Tigers are our main competition in the west to grab future generation supporters if they actually had some success.

Penrith have already locked down there area and there now going to grow off the back of this dynasty similar to us in the 1980s.

Gone are the days a lot of Parra fans grew up in Penrith and followed the Eels as much as the Panthers.

If the Tigers did go on a roll it would be similar to the Bulldogs right now though i doubt they carry on like those porkchops.

But they have a massive fanbase out there they just have had no sustained success to even translate to a single final appearances and grab the attention.

Like honestly how does a club go 14 years without playing a final in this comp where they have 8 spots up for the grabs and most years you only need to win 12 games from 24.

Its almost as bad as some mob going 40 years without winning a comp.

The ultimate insult will be if the Perth Bears come in and make the finals before the Tigers do again & even for us manage to win a comp before we do.

Renisini is already looking like one of those kids that looks like a speciman but early indicators he is injury prone with different ways to find an injury.

Injuries are stacking up already on the young kid.

He should have had more games in cup by now and more advanced then where he is.

Like he should have been the one replacing his brother on Saturday.

Instead were 8 games left in the year and after 2 x seasons he has had 7 cup games and unlikely to crack it in FG this year.

We have 29 players on contract for 2026, this includes debelin and desilva , this also includes matterson lane and hands who we'd expect not to be here giving us potentially 4 spots if all 3 players moved on

Ryley Smith is slow and has no running game?
TDS is ALL speed and running game.

When you guys signed Joffa (Who I loved and didnt want to leave) I was kind enough to come here and share with you his strengths and weaknesses and what you would like and not like, and of course I was proven to be 100% correct.

Because you merkins asked so nicely, I'll do the same with TDS (who I like and would have liked to stay but prefer Api).

TDS at 20yo has an almost elite running game and is super dangerous running from dummy half. Can score a try. Thats the good news.

TDS has a NSW cup level passing game from DH. He has a reasonably quick pass, but particularly when he is tiring, its can be erratic and in particular our forwards have to pause for his passes. He is a kid and this could and should improve.

TDS has a high Jersey Flegg level defence. He knows how to, he gets in reasonable position but gets pushed off very easily, gets worse later in the game. Could/should improve as he gets older/bigger.

I think he will be your 9 for the next 10 years and I think he will be very good player for you guys.
