The question is , where is the restraint of trade , as an athlete he has an opportunity to play union and get paid. That’s more to the agreement not to play NRL, his playing future as a professional player is obviously available

He never had a Contract with ARU.

I dont think enough is being made of the reports of Lomax asking to come back to Eels. If he did, and Parra said get stuffed, I think its a pretty clear case of RoT.

@Stevie I think they are talking about you

* Early kick from Jonah Pezet after a turnover, with Foxx chasing and scoring. For those misled by claims elsewhere about the lack of improvised or unstructured footy under Ryles, let me assure you that such moments of playing what they see are not uncommon.

f**k, me, they're a bunch of twats, aren't they?

Yes - however, we hadn't won a Premiership since 1986.

I think the fervour of Parramatta Eels fans is unrivalled - we are a football club with the longest Premiership drought in the competition, but our Membership numbers keep growing; our attendances are always good!; and we even got a brand, spanking new, state-of-the-art stadium before several other, bigger (or, more successful) clubs.

The Storm won Premierships like it's going out of fashion - it's easy to support a winning team.
Sometimes going for a team well over due to win is easy also. As for the new stadium, I guess no one will ever know why Parra got one. Some sort of new central Sydney they say, what about success. How many years between drinks is it now?

I recall when Lomax wept and sobbed in an early round 2025 Eels game which we won that upon expressing my disquiet at his lack of composure others unceremoniously shitbagged me and poured ladles of scorn upon my forlorn head for having the temerity to question his emotional disequilibrium.

I sit here today, vindicated.

Anyone else hear Braith on his podcast saying he’s been told that Zac has been introduced to all the Storm players and been inside their building. He had no intention of coming back here and Trippin is talking out his ass .
I have no doubt Lomax has been snuck into the storm complex for team meetings.

What Journos down there are monitoring it.

Unless we had a Spy or Private investigator it wouldnt be hard honestly to get him in there.

Storm just cant have him in official training gear training with the side

Impossible to police secret team meetings.

He’s probably been shown all around Melbourne town.

Taken on a tram ride, high rollers section at the casino, honey trap with high paid escorts who pretend to like him, the zoo, sparring at kickboxing thing he likes ( opponents paid to lose) and the storm logo tattooed on his butt.

“One of us, one of us” from my favourite movie “ freaks.

Headbutting with Stefano before he jets off in the storm owners private aircraft.

Yeah if the poll was conducted in an unscientific manner then it would be worthless, but then what would be the point of it?

Anyway, I think crowd figures are a much better indication of support, and the Storm are one of the best in the NRL. The Broncos dominate crowd figures, with daylight second.
Are you suggesting 60000 sample size for extrapolating figures 20 times that amount for 2 out of 17 results is scientific?

Even crowd figures should be discounted when considering Melbourne are going to see only 13 games a season, whereas Sydney teams are going to play “away” games in Sydney. Gives supporters more opportunity to see their team

It makes Melbourne’s crowds even more impressive.

This gets perilously close to how I think it’ll go, but the whole “he offered to come back” really doesn’t wash. And as league supporter, you should agree with us. The court can not deny that we have a salary cap restraint to work within. If the restraint is enforceable if he didn’t want to return, it should be enforceable even if he legitimately did what to return, after initially submitting he wasn’t going to ever and after us reasonably using further cap space to fulfil our commitments to NRL.
Yes there are circumstances where it’d be clear case. To date nothing has been released to suggest this will be clear.

Now explain for us how Penrith got $500M for a new stadium when their existing was adequate.

Tigers have been getting shafted by player agents for 10 years and two of the more disgraceful examples have involved Parramatta. The general consensus here about that ( which I understand tbf) is that Tigers fans should suck it up. Im not going to lose much sleep if this doesnt work out for Parra.

Whether as a league supporter I should agree with you, in legal matters it has very little to do with whether I like something or not, its based on clear principles and stare decisis. None of us here know all the factors in this case and I can only make a rough judgement and agree with what we know. If the SMH report today is true and Lomax told Parra he would come back after R360 fell over, IMO without knowing any other evidence, I cant see how its not RoT to uphold the condition of his release.

Was it adequate? It was a shithole. And without the charm of inner suburban stadiums like Leichhardt.
TBH what they are getting now isnt too bad but the original $500m plan was to build new stadium next door to the current stadium and leave it for a training facility. They correctly decided to use the existing ground but didnt get much of a deduction. Massive overspend.
