It won't happen. The NRL wants the Eels to do well. No way they will kill our season when it's the first one since 2009 where we have a realistic chance of winning a Comp. Ratings will absolutely die is we are to be the Melbourne of 2010.
But in the big ratings picture the NRL in 2010 would not have wanted to risk ratings fallout in a Victorian market where it was still trying to build a strong footprint. As much as I agree Parramatta is a major drawcard in all aspects of media, unfortunately I don't believe that will be enough for the ratings factor to impact on the NRL decision, whatever that may be.
What Melbourne did was outright larceny; all we are guilty of is outright stupidity.
And the end of the day , it doesn't matter whether Parramatta are doing well or in the crapper, we all know this great club will ALWAYS draw massive media attention so the NRL won't care whether the penalty is four points or 44 points.
