I don't quite understand your point. So....2 blokes get convicted of criminal offences and have been (or will be) sent to prison....nobody is suggesting that Pearce or Carney be sent to prison.

Hitler / Stalin killed millions of people. Does that make Johnson and Hernandez's offenses seem trivial?

My point is that the Pearce story got as much media coverage as a rape or murder, if not more!

Pearce returning to the country got triple be attention of the Pell story.......

The media brings the game into disrepute by giving a nothing story more attention than it deserves!

Also, another point is that other games have bigger issues than just players being dickheads but people choose to turn off NRL because of this? Seems weird to me.

The bass player for Korn is possibly the biggest douche on the planet, doesn't mean I'll stop liking their music or the other members. Other musicians are drug addicts and people still worship them but an NRL player carries on like a dickhead and pretends to f**k a dog and he should be banned for 12+ weeks??????

But are these guys ever filmed doing shit like that? I doubt it, because they have enough money that they don't go back to some random chick's place for a party; they bring their random chicks to a $20k a night hotel suite where their private security detail confiscates everyone's phones.

Plus they're not in any kind of collective team or league, so if they're going to hurt anyone's reputation it's only their own. And anyway, musicians do get sacked by their labels all the time. But just like in rugby league, the better they are the more 'second' chances they get.
