If the rumour offer/contact (around $500/600k) is correct the club did the right thing not matching the offer. Good player but not worth that amount to the eels.

Not even close to the rumoured figures, Junior stays with us if that was the deal tabled. I said it earlier in the thread but Ricky may well have gone Full Ricky Stuart on this one.

Reckon Gordon could stay another year, but he would be on a bugger all. Reckon $150k max. Probably depends on how French / Gutherson perform or if the chosen one returns as you mention ( or so how Gordon is performing)

No great loss in my opinion, the way the game is changing with fewer interchanges year on year. He'll become a bench impact player at best next season, or responsible for a lot of lateral gaps in defence if trying to play big minutes in 2017 down at the Raiders.

If someone was offering you a job and was prepared to pay you 3 times what you're currently earning... and then you're incumbent employer tried to match the offer but still came up well short of the other offer, what would you do??? I know what I'd be doing.

How long is Browich contracted to Melbourne for? Release the likes of Wicks and O'Brien and add that to the money we were prepared to offer Junior, then have Twal and Alvaro step in to the breach.... that'd be nice! But I'm guessing Bromwich is signed up to the cheats until he's 42 or something...

Or - we could just wait until Junior gets homesick in Canberra when it's minus 6 degrees in the middle of winter and get him back here on compassionate grounds!

Yep. If the figures are correct he has signed Paulo and that young Newcastle forward for over a $1milion a year. That's crazy money for two young non rep players with less then 100 games combined.

Not sure why Ricky would throw stupid money at Paulo, it's not like the Raiders a short of big forwards snd desperate. I would think their squad now needs an experienced player or two rather then more youngsters.

If Paolo and Tapine are at the raiders for $1million a year you'd have to think that blokes like papalii, Boyd etc would be candidates for early release?
