Been impressed with Scott over the first two rounds. Been looking committed and doing some great tidy up work for us. Looking a lot better than last year with the Knights.

The Parramatta Eels made a substantial offer to retain Junior Paulo.

He is a local Parramatta junior who was aware we were keen for him to remain in Blue and Gold for future years.

Unfortunately, Junior made the decision not to accept this offer and join the Canberra Raiders from 2017 onwards.

Junior will remain with the Eels in 2016 and has indicated to the club and his teammates that he is committed to give his best for the 2016 season.

Interesting, sounds almost like sourgrapes.

Good luck to him!! Footy careers are short.

Don't think it was sour grapes, responding to those who thought the club had not engaged properly with Junior .

Sticky's offer was over the top, good luck to Junior, living in Canberra etc has a price, but look for the Raiders cap to be in trouble in the next year or so

Bitter? To the point, given the club has probably been copping criticism for not retaining him, I think it's quite a good media release. They offered him a substantial contract and I would guess it's not what Canberra offered. They did what they could to retain him and it obviously wasn't enough. If they had have said nothing there would still be whinging.

Bitter?

To me it reads with like a man who is genuinely sad to see a gun local junior leave.

We did our best, but how are you going to compete with Canberra's crazy offer?

I'm gutted - love the way he plays.

But good luck to is in 2016, and to Junior onwards.

It's in response to the nuffies who assumed we didn't even make him an offer. Keyboard heroes telling lies about our club is the new normal.

But don't worry, it'll all be stable just as soon as the board is overthrown. The factions will stop undermining and leave the club alone.

No problems at all with the media release, I'm gutted at losing him but I can't blame a guy who has met his Alan Bond. Hopefully he's back here after those two seasons.
