Semi earning 250k a year as our first or second best player affords him a lot of respect in my eyes. He is the kind of player that could command Hayne-like money anywhere he wants and all he wants to do is play for NSW? Let him ffs, if someone doesn't play rugby league before 13 years of age they should be allowed to do what they want, play for the state that their club resides in or otherwise. Hayne played for both Fiji and Australia

Why? He was bloody happy when he signed the contract, no one made him do it. It could have gone the other way, and he turned out shit with the eels stuck with a $250k NSW cup winger. Or he could have suffered a serious injury and was out for a few years. I bet his manager wouldn't then accept the eels telling him semi aren't getting paid.

Yep. Nobody knew semi was going to turn out to be the sensation he is. Maybe not even him. Maybe eels should consider moving him to centre and upping his pay. That's only if he wants to, and obviously extend for a year or two. :)

No mate.

Pou is annoying, condescending, pretentious, and stubborn.

But he's nothing like you.

There's no doubt he loves footy and loves the eels.

He can also be very funny.

You are a fraud who is only here to antagonise and contributes absolutely zero to the forum.

Can someone give me a link to the real league unlimited Eels forum? This can't be it.

LOL okay, so by that logic we let could have signed Lockyer on one of our lowest paying contracts for an extended period of time when he played for us, and if he didn't work out we could have been stuck with a NSW Cup Fullback. I'm not going to go and research but wasn't his latest contract based on his amazing performances in first grade? The length makes me respect it and the price, because he isn't taking up much of a salary cap and he is the heart and soul of our team.

Compare that to Hayne who was the heart and soul of our team and took up a lot of salary cap. That is what I respect and I don't know how you can have a problem with that.

What make you think he has to play centre to up his pay? If he is able to get MOM from the wing then leave him there. His contribution is still excellent.

As a club Parra should give him 100k upgrade. But I am sure there would be plenty of 3rd party deals for a guy like Semi. A guy like Jnr Paulo wont attract 3rd party like the Semi would. And if the NRL are serious they would not let a great story like this part ways with the NRL

He has averaged 120m a game this year and made an incredible 50 tackle busts, using his scorching pace and thunder thighs to destroy rival defenders.

“I’m so happy (with the new deal),” he told The Daily Telegraph.

”There were three offers but I told my manager I want to stay.

WHAT A RISK

Agreed. In three games this year he has run the ball 47 times. Our centres have only made 30 (Jennings) and 27 (Takairangi) carries.

Semi is worth what he's worth, and when he comes off contract he will get it, regardless of what position he plays. But it's a lot easier to get the ball into a winger's hands than a centre's, plus they are fresher due to not having to make as many tackles.

I'm not talking about a100k upgrade. I'm talking a significant one. Wingers have pretty much always been near the bottom in terms of salary. Don't think we are going to see a 800/900k winger in the game any time soon. Unless of course, we pay semi those kind of $$$, but he plays more thru the middle in attack like a fullback.

Maybe Semi should skill up and make himself a centre or fullback if he wants the big bucks.
