The merkin is our best player and has been for two years now.

You want him to try to be as good a brad takarangi before you pay him more?

You're worried about gaps on sidelines?

Semi has proven over and over again that he eventually succeeds with whatever challenges lay before him. Can't see him failing as our fullback, particularly as he wants top $$$$$. Suggest he's given a performance based upgraded contract for next season to play 1 and in the meantime is given every opportunity possible during the rest of this season, swapping with Gordon to learn positional play, defence, etc, expected of a top class fullback.

It would be nice if journalists are held just as accountable as the players. They always go after clubs or players when they are lying, mess up or hiding shit. Yet talk shit 85% of the time and never held accountable

Semi needs to become our fullback from next season onwards.
Bevan, Gutho or Gordon to wing - Gutho probably to the centres next season or the one after.

Semi has the physical power and evasive skills to match Jarryd in attack with ball in hand but is yet to show any sublime kicking skills in attack which elevated Jarryd to super stardom. Semi's defence has improved in huge leaps and bounds. Semi is drawn to playing 1 - he is a natural. And Semi would not surprise me if most, if not all of Jarryd's skills came to the fore over the next three seasons.

Playing 1 organising defensive line structures, can just imagine the colouring of Semi's character barking out orders to the boys.

It also means that if Jarryd does come back next season that he will play centre or 5/8 and back up/interchange with Semi @ 1. Now that squad

1. Semi
2. Gutho/Bevan
3. Jarryd
4. Jennings
5. Gordon/Bevan/Gutho/Norman
6. Norman/Hayne
7. Foran

is a huge payback/get-square to the Broncos and Storm squads of the past 16 seasons or so.

OTHER CLUBS CAN’T BELIEVE PARRA
ONE NRL club couldn’t believe the big bucks Parramatta directors were allegedly being paid. Directors at the rival club have been rejecting the small $5000 on offer for board members to ensure the club remains financially sound.

What a surprise, our executive board are gorging at the trough. Nah, never.

This smear campaign is becoming ridiculously childish. Just proves that a tabloid newspaper is made for the lowest common denominator.

no he doesn't

Yes he does, the cap dictates here.

Semi has the physical ability and stamina to play 1 and at worst can still interchange with a winger during games for a break/breather which he currently does (sort of).

Having a winger on $500-$800k, + upgrading Norman to $800k or so and with Foran on $1.2k and Jennings on probably far more than $550k, we just can't keep Semi as a winger on huge $$$$.

And then there is the slight possibility of Jarryd coming back too.

The cap will force Semi to 1 and we will have to bring in cheap $$$ Bevan to ease pressure on the cap until Bevan far exceeds his value on the wing.

The only story these deadbeat morons havent run is who is white anting the club. Surely that would sell heaps of papers. I just cant understand why these cretins arent esposed and therefore subjected to some old fashioned justice. They are being treated as heros in all of this and its pretty obvious they are anything but. Just my two bobs worth.

I thought BA would dictate

True, but the cap will influence his decision making as it has already been doing since he became coach.

Based on current events/circumstances, how do you see our coach handling the cap to shape our 2017 squad?

Go with cheaper forwards to compensate?

Let go of Norman?

Or????

depends on who retires and how young blokes like French develop as well as our young forwards

too many parameters and too early in the season just yet, thats why we are waiting till mid season till we talk to Norman and get down to decision making I guess

Agree with all that too.

And planning for the worst while going for the best, it would be very smart to start grooming Semi for 1 - we have nothing to lose bar Semi moving on to union one day. Doubt that will happen if we look after him now and long term and with his warm loveable no nonsense character, 3rd party deals will become massive for Semi, if not already (beckoning). A world class Semi means GF's and possible premierships.
