The Tigers shaping up as

Junior Tupou also departs the club at the end of the year, while Aidan Sezer appears likely to exit Concord at season’s end.

He's a bit behind here, so he's just assuming with the rest of his comments based on gut feelings.
Aidan Sezar departs for Hull Fc in Super League.

So Bateman has told the club he is staying for the next 2 years. I'm going to pretend it is a new signing and my memory has been erased.
He was sensational playing for Great Britain. Having a stint back on England after leaving the NRL could really freshen up his resolve.
Great signing.

Richo is also unhappy with a number Wests Tigers players who seemingly had a bad attitude at the Spoon gate game.
More like they were embarrassed.

I don't want him on those dollars.
RCG Bargain for the tigers at that money (700k)for two years with a mutual option for a third. Anybody who doesn’t want him is crackers. Runs circles around Royce Hunt even as an ‘impact’ player. You’re kidding yourself as a tigers fan if you reject a player like him at those odds, would easily be the best forward in our pack if he were to sign. 10x better than Klemmer at the same age. Id give Shano another 3years if he could get RCG on board

If it was only for 2 years, surely we would've snapped him and Hunt up but Saints and Broncos said no because he wanted 3 years. That sounds right.
Has this changed now Pezz?
We are apparently in the mix but it is stalled atm.
Maybe we just don't have the room or we're sticking to a 2 yr offer??

Worth noticing that RCG was on 750k for 2025 at the Eels but he was told that he's free to leave.
So I doubt RCG would be want anything less.
I haven't seen anywhere that the Eels are thowing in some cash to get him off their books.
I've seen three different amounts of dollars being thrown around so I don't think the journos have a clue.
This may play out for weeks.

He’ll get the $750k no matter what, I can understand our club could be hesitant, we’ve been burnt so many times before.
I said earlier I thought he played well against us, while I watched it, but have never really seen him play, so why is parra happy to see him gone?
Hopefully, maybe, they could make the contract performance based somehow and get him on board.

If he did come, it would be pretty good FR.

What we have to be wary about is the potential of having our cap tied up for more than two years. Not just with Gillard but everyone.
Ideally as a player is nearing the end of his career you want to be able to replace him.
The best way imo is to stagger the contracts so not too many need renewing all at once.
It easy for us to throw names around and begging Richo to sign them but I'm sure there are a lot of other factors at play....like resigning Pole, Sione Fainu and extending others like Galvin... and the implications any movement will have on the cap, now and in the future.
Throw in Bateman as well. Now that he's returning I think we're back to square 1.
We also need fwds and backs that remain to be the foundation of the team when other players are being released. Who replaces Klemmer?

Eels let RCG go because they can't rebuild with him there, tying up the cap with other big names. They seem to be in a bit of a mess as they've let a young gun go seemingly because their hands were tied.
The Eels certainly didn't let RCG go because of poor form as he got their top award this year, the Ken Thornett Medal.

I wouldn’t b wasting energy trying to re-sign Galvin coz it ain’t happening as it’s glaring that the repugnant Isaac Moses will torment us in negotiations as his intention is to gravitate to where the obscene money will b at the bears or the fraudulent rorters.Luckily we have a surplus of quality halves led by the fabulous leader & winner Luai who will help realise Latu’s enormous potential. We need to prioritise with assembling a fearsome pack of forwards who no team looks forward to playing.Consequently our gun spine will reap dividends & we can finally climb out of the abyss.

I’m Richos no.1 fan.He won’t b bending over to the contemptible Moses the way the spineless administration did in ‘17 during the farcical contract neg of the 4 hoaxes.
That's why I said have faith in Richo.
Noone has had this much effect on our club since the joint v started.
He's been instrumental in cleaning out the cronies and I think his attitude is not to over commit.
Give him a go and let's see what unfolds.

I’m certainly not one to be prematurely critical of Richo. As I said recently all his decisions have been spot on except the signing of the injury prone has-been Bird which is at least for only 2 yrs as opposed to the mammoth 5 yr offer he would’ve received from Pascoe & the megalomaniac Hag.

I like Bird but there's one thing about his signing that has me perplexed.
Richo said Bird's signing is a short term deal of an experienced back who can guide the young fellas.

Who are these good young players?
We have Olam. So are we talking about 2026? Who is the gun coming thru...is it Heamasi Makasini? He might be too young even then.
Is it Feledy?
In any case we have Olam.
Bird is a great utility but the main reason why we signed him doesn't make sense.
