I'm starting to think the Luai contract could be a dud. It's top dollar and 5 years and we have two young gun halves in our top 30 and a pretty decent back-up still on contract (Sullivan). It's way to early to make the call in relation to Luai's contract now but a 3 year contract in our specific situation may have been a better idea.

In saying that we've all been a basket case and we bought a half who is a 4 time premiership winner for 5 years.

It isn't so black and white.
Whether Luai has a big season or not come Nov 1 he will command an increased salary as he has a get out clause & teams r desperate for halves with his experience & reputation & the Dylan brown contract has distorted salaries.Additionally in a few yrs there will b the inclusion of 2 more years.Halves have won the powerball.

Luau’s deal is 2 years with an option of 3 more, as I understand it.
If we can afford it, I’d be keeping them all.
I wrote earlier if Gal does sign up for 5 years, what’s he going to be worth by the end of it?
Yes, it’s all a gamble, but better judges than me say he’s going to be a great.
We are on the cusp of getting some players that we can build a real good team around, I’ll be happy if they go for it.
If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys, we need him more than he needs us.

Maybe time for a couple of passionate blue ribbon 3rd party sponsors to step up and make it a bit easier to hold onto them...Harry T said he's done untill the club showed evidence of heading in the right direction ....well Lord Harry?! Where TF art thou ??
* however the broncs pay their touchline to touchline elite squad ....well it's simple ..do that!

In his favour.

I completely agree.

I don't care how much you pay them. That isn't the issue. The issue is retaining all of them. If Luai's deal was a deal where we could get out of it that changes the situation because you have more room to move.

I suppose we just have to see how it plays out but I really like Latu and Galvin. I assume Luai will stay.

All of a sudden, I am not as keen on the idea, as I was yesterday.
I reckon it’s a done deal.I just wish he were a Gareth Ellis clone. We badly need a prop & 2nd rower more than an outside back.LL has returned & Naden will b back soon so our backline stocks are fine albeit Taylan is elite if he focuses on footy & stays out of trouble.

Solomona Faataape has been upgraded to top 30squad.
Twenty-four-year-old outside back Faataape has been upgraded to the NRL Top 30 for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Solomona has previously been signed to a Development contract since joining Wests Tigers ahead of the 2024 season, featuring in 19 NRL games to date.
He joined the club from Brisbane Tigers in the Queensland Cup and has proven to be a valuable addition to the squad.

Wests Tigers have further added to their outside back depth with Izaac Tu’itupou and Krystian Mapapalangi joining the club on training contracts.

The pair bring valuable experience in NRL systems to the club’s extended squad.

Tu’itupou (formerly Thompson) played 13 NRL games for South Sydney from 2022 to 2024, scoring six tries.

A winger/centre, the 28-year-old brings strong yardage carries and quality finishing ability to the club.

He joined Wests Tigers in recent weeks and has since played four games for Western Suburbs in the NSW Cup.

A 22-year-old former Holy Cross Ryde student, Mapapalangi played six NRL games for Newcastle from 2022 to 2024, scoring one try.

The skilful and athletic centre proved to be a dynamic ball-runner during his time with the Knights.

Wests Tigers would like to congratulate Solomona and welcome Izaac and Krystian to the club.

On behalf of my fellow wests tigers members, I want to thank the storm for taking stefano off our hands.

Richo didn’t seem remotely worried about him pissing off last year and looking at his performances for the storm I now know why.

I could be more generous except he tooled on for months last year and turned up down there singing his own praises.

The stats say May is close to 2 or 3 times better than Stef and he’s barely played for us.

That’s what happens when you sign someone on potential..

I predict Bellyache will be shopping him around soon.

He wouldn’t break into our top 17 at the moment.

Richo was right to draw that uncrossable line.

If rumours are true, we offered him way overs.

No mercy for Galvo either. He’s either on the bus or under it. We need full Fainuage as the game v Broncos will illustrate.

Latu and Galvo v Hunt and Renno.

Like a new tesla up against an old statesman.

Our kids will run riot.

My sister hates her Tesla now. It’s embarrassing to drive she says.

Plus she owned a diesel gate golf lol.

Thems the breaks.
