It's definitely a medical retirement. The season runs from Nov 1 so that's about 5 months. We'll get about $350k back on the cap this year and the full $600k next year.

We still have to pay out the remainder of the contract to him. And he's entitled to it. Good on him. Just that it'll have to come from the club budget.

He still looks a lot fitter than me.

Here something a little left field........offer Galvin an extension and if he rejects it go hard for DCE? Imagine him and luai in the halves with bula and api.

Could open up a premiership window straight away. I'm not too serious about this. Just shit talking
I vote you president of something DOM. I haven't worked out what yet.

Aren’t they the same thing, retiring because he can’t play on?
I agree, but only retirement due to injury has been mentioned around the traps, so I don't know if there is a difference or not.
I guess getting an injury to an old existing injury wouldn't be treated the same as a new injury and I understand it was considered a new injury.
It will come out eventually.
Meantime, we need to replace both him and Klemmer.

If it says retirement on medical advice what's that telling you,? Gotta be medically retired doesn't it.

Agree, but I don’t know if they distinguish it, all I know is he’s retired.
We’ll find out if it’s different eventually.

If it was the same dodgy knee that he had with Melbourne we'd be stuffed. We'd have to pay out his contract with no salary dispensation.

Definitely need another prop or two in the door. I don’t think we need more outside backs however. Our centres and wingers are all playing well and outside that we still have Staines, Naden & Faataape in the squad. We also have Mason who can cover a few backline positions. Our middle forward stocks are very week and replacing Klemmer should be a top priority along with locking down Galvin.

I think Kit Laulilii should be on the bench because he'll develop into a solid middle. He's not huge but great post contact metres. He's listed as a lock because of his mobility and height but he's 105kg and doesn't shirk the tough stuff. He's basically a clone of Pole.
During pathways he was one of the better players and a captain too. That's how high he was held in high regard.
I know middles are classically taller, Haas a perfect example because they are harder to leverage onto ground making them able to offload, but he would be perfect sub to come on and take over from pole making quick charges through the ruck. A lot of packs now are going more for this style of play.
As a solid lad with footwork means a future weapon.
I'm looking at the back end of the season.
