Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

TBH, he sounds like a real dipshit, but if he can add value to the team, at a low $ and kept away from SM, I'd sign him in a heartbeat.
I would have thought he'd be a bit quieter if he was wanting to come back.
I don't know him at all, but maybe he's just a loud mouth who happens to be a good footballer.
Getting us in the top 8 and above tends to soften your approach to anybody.
I was willing to give him a second chance if he showed some sort of contrition or explained he'd learnt a lesson but the opposite has happened. He's just shown he's a total farkwit.

That's a hard no from me. He's a car crash waiting to happen and would probably only drag his brother down with him.

I'm not sure how you'd go about getting yourself noticed over there but it would be worth it. All the teams are actually part of large business conglomerates and the money is awesome. The season is short and the physicality would be lucky to be half NRL standard.

The only downside are the strict conditions. As you're representing the company you wouldn't be able to screw up in any way. If you did you'd probably find yourself chained to a production line for the length of your contract.

..I doubt that would suit a Maori boy (and cook islander) from tokoroa.. Fullback, wing, Centre and 6 sheeeit.. 6 till halftime then with the games won back to centre for the 2nd half …Apologies we do have Terrell who’s model material. That’s it tho.. The rest could run a scare campaign

But yea those particular terms are just the basics you hear around, songs movies ..You know Luai and the Mays are from the bad side of town..with the gang signs, the accent, even the gold chains etc etc Manu just gives off a different vibe

Very interesting WA.
Just over 300k from Gisborne is Hamilton, my ex and I drove that route, very pretty.
The most memorable thing back then was milk was virtually free, free phone booths and when you had a bath the water was so clean it had a very very light blue tint.
We saw a calf being born outside our motel window in a meadow. For city slickers that was cool.
The more I think about this young May fella is I believe in redemption. If he's committed to being nice, maybe we should give him a chance?

Yeah WA, on the average, one of my family is going to visit NZ every 4 years for a holiday.Last one was a driving holiday.

A niece became ill.

But unlike other countries, its ok to get ill in NZ, theyll take very good care of you and its affordable.

We invited them to becone a state and they gave us the proverbial lol.

DOUBLE-HEADER ADDS WEIGHT TO COOK’S RUGBY LEAGUE HOPES
Scott Bailey
WA Premier Roger Cook has offered renewed hope of salvaging the Perth Bears concept, describing last-ditch talks with the NRL as “positive”.
Mr Cook was a keen observer at the Optus Stadium double-header on Saturday, addressing club officials and sitting in the crowd for the two matches.
A crowd of 31,437 was announced at half-time of the second game, perhaps showing some fans had delivered on the threat of boycotting out of frustration. But publicly, Mr Cook has had a change of tune.
It was only eight days ago that he accused the NRL of treating WA like a “cash cow”, with an estimated $65 million gap in funding talks.
Mr Cook is now hopeful the proposed franchise can be saved, with both parties returning to the table in recent days.
“We’ve made our position to the NRL very clear and that is any deal must deliver value for WA taxpayers,” he said. “Since then, we’ve had some positive discussions and those discussions are ongoing.
“We won’t be making any further comment until those discussions conclude.”
Saturday’s crowd was the smallest at a rugby league event at Optus Stadium, following two previous double-headers and sold-out State of Origins in 2019 and 2022.
Even so, it will still mark the second-biggest of the round, behind only the 40,814 at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

If they became a state, they could bludge off the western australian taxpayer like the rest of us easterners!

Pony up WA!
My personal advisor Tic toc said don’t rely on the govt for anything.. I’m 4 years away from a pension.thats a long time... The dole would destroy me.. see how I feel at 67.. hopefully will have fallen into something by then
