My personal advisor Tic toc said don’t rely on the govt for anything.. I’m 4 years away from a pension.thats a long time... The dole would destroy me.. see how I feel at 67.. hopefully will have fallen into something by then

Do you own a house/apartment mate ? It makes a big difference if you are retired and getting the pension.

I’ll just answer your question with ..The house not so much ..more the amount of $$ you have.. I think it’s around 3-$400,000 when they start lessening the pension …relying on a lawn mowing run to keep providing with no major incidents eg injury and no sick leave available for 4 years is all a bit scary.. of course there’s advantages as well with the much shorter hours and 4 days a week and independence… Im starting to think I can look at it in 2 ways.. pray I make it to 67 with no major incidents . then jump on the pension and have my arse ripped out because of my income . or forget about the pension and keep going as I am, all the while thinking positively about finding something even better with way less effort that’s still mine weather in the same industry or not?….I think there’s a better chance of stumbling upon/creating something like that with that attitude ..tho I know Ill be tempted to rest up on the pension at 67..problem is then I’ll become locked in, with very limited income and get very lazy … I havnt been locked in like that in Oz yet. I don’t know if I want to start. I’ll reassess in 4 years… if I make it

My understanding is that your house isn't means tested so therefore if you own your house you don't have to pay rent. I'm retired and one of our back-up plans is the pension if we need it. We could also sell our house and downsize since we own a house in Sydney.

Anyway good luck. I do plenty of exercise but for instance now my elbow is screwed and it takes ages for injuries to heal. I don't think I could work regularly in a physical job.

Are you saying that by me disclosing Elaine at Seven Shillings Beach shouldn't have effected my application for a pension? ;)

It’s physically tough all right. Though really not that bad. But it’s invaluable exercise..especially in your sixty’s. I think 70’s it could get tough but it may be fine? .. by then worse case I’ll have paid off my credit cards, loans and everything else that’s up to my eyeballs at the moment..then it can be a 5-6 jobs a week top up on top of my house full of boarders paying top $..like everyone I want to be rich as musk ..times running out tho and luck will have to play a part

If you live in your own house I don't think it's mean tested. If you have an investment property that would be means tested. You should fact check me though.

Not me mate. I only need so much. I have plenty of rich family and the money brings nothing but problems.
Yea I’m having a taste of that at the moment re house inheritance .. it just doesn’t make sense how some people think..I think narcissism is involved how family can just turn and dig their heels in .. sometimes I wish I was a narcissist

Ahh well...I'm guessing Dogs or Manly...chooks if it wasn't for Moses
Latu....c'mon thru son !
Wouldn't surprise if it's the Eels?
But I did mentioned, he can't negotiate until November this year, so technically it's all speculation, unless he gets caught? Though I don't know what the penalty is.

Hes gone the dog, no surprises here.

I love the attitude. I was getting bad feelings like Stef last year in that we were targeted the wrong player. In both cases I think management stuffed up offering such good money to under-performing players that for some reason have become big media targets.

I don't dislike Galvin or Stef but I care about our club winning games and I think overpaying guys who haven't proven themselves is a recipe for disaster. I think this is probably beneficial for us.
