If true:

We gave Brooks a role is securing Moses and as expected, he stuffs this up too.

At any rate, we’ve finished off the eels for a few seasons and should be able pick up a better half than Brooks for half his salary and maybe a cheap used Samoan International.

Limit of endurance reached, I don’t think we should offer more.

Our recruitment team might have got …….. line fever once we signed Charlie.

Mate....I know you wanted him........but this is FAR from a tragedy.

Even our harshest critics would judge our offseason a successful one. We just need to keep building the way we have this off-season. The better we get, the more likely we'll attract someone decent.....and for less dollars too knowing that they have a big opportunity with a good support cast around them.

One thing.....and I think you're a top bloke. DON'T MENTION THE "CHEAP USED SAMOAN INTERNATIONAL" IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS "WESTS TIGERS" EVER AGAIN!!!!!!! lol. I would not pay him minimum wage.....waste of a precious roster spot.

I was keen for him to come but it surprises me how non fussed I am about this news.

Who knows? Maybe Brooks and Douehi will shine with our new pack and the money can go elsewhere. Whatever happens we now have a team that players who love attacking plays will be attracted to and we have the money to pay for one. How nice to be genuinely excited about the future of our club.

Umm, we’re not the ones on here whinging about it? He did get your price up.

I think the story is near right, i.e. he was never coming and he played us all for the cash, I don’t really blame him for that.

How do you know that? Nobody knows the price, everyone just has a guess including the journos that you rely upon.

If we move quickly, we can possibly pick up Kyle Flanagan for $450k and make a play for Herbet.

They’d be enough left over to keep Charlie and Laurie and of course, clutch play for the used Samoan international.

With all that cash on offer, there’s going to be a lot of interest from greedy player managers.

I never heard Moses say a nice thing about our club through this process. I don't think he even toured the Tigers facilities. You are spot on......he was NEVER going to come here.
He played the Eels like an absolute fiddle! Getting that club to only 200k short of what we offered was a pretty impressive feat. Some cap f**king would have happened with that deal.....on top of the expensive Gutho and Brown retentions.
Look at their forum. There are quite a few Eel fans that are not in celebration about the amount he eventually signed for.

Kyle Flanagan on 450k or Brooks on his pay.......that is the devil's choice. Flanagan has...........nothing. If there were on the same pay, I take Brooks everytime. A big no to both.

As for your clutch play, I remember us being in the mix for him or Moylan at one point and missing both (thankfully!). He has been through a bit since then.....none of it is good. An unmotivated footballer I think will be dropped to reserve grade at some point this year.
