Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

So what is that plan ?

Interesting that last week Sheens said Offa was needed and he would start the game.
Papali'i & Bateman were the starting backrowers and with Pole, have been the regular starting back 3.

Add to the mix, Kepaoa who started against the Dragons when Bateman was out, Brandon Tumuth who has just returned from injury, plus Blore, Seyfarth, Matamua and Twal whilst not Frizell could all fill in for x minutes from the bench or even longer if one of the regular guys was out.

What does a 31 year old backrower bring to the Tigers besides experience that they now have with the current pack?

Funny that this has pushed talk of Brooks having to leave off the main topics for us fans.

It reminds me of the commotion over Liddle a couple of years back, before the injury

This isn’t saying anything really, except that they deem Schuster as not a good fit for the club?
In fairness I think it is probably right. At this stage we need a half/five eight who is going to be a leader, not someone who has to take time off to get his body right mid season.

although his talent levels are sky high so I wouldn’t mind if he came

If Benji could fix him then yes

I liked Joffa, sad to see him go, gives his all and when he makes a mistake he looks genuinely mad at himself about it. That said Stef and Pole are better prospects, Klemmer is a far superior player at this point and Twal probably earns half what Joff does. Assuming he’s on a decent chunk of change I’m happy to free the space up, considering he doesn’t play big minutes anymore.

I think the club owe us an explanation of why they let Joffa go. The only excuse to keep quiet I can think of is because whoever we have signed is still in a cooling off period (or something along those lines). Even if it was due to cap constraints, no reason to let him go this year unless there was an attitude problem...which I'm pretty sure there wasn't.

The euphoria of the 66 point thrashing is starting to wear off a bit. We want answers.

Agree, I hate changing a winning side.

I was wondering why, it's just the way it is these days but then I thought about 2 things that every club has (supporters) and every club needs (revenue).

What about the fans who spend their hard earned cash each and every year buying membership and merchandise?
Without those fans and revenue there's a big hole.

What about the fans who idolise a particular player and wear the latest jersey with that players name on the back. Hard to wear the Tigers jersey with Joffa on it to next weeks game.

So yeah brother Jim, fans are owed an explanation.

Relax brother, in God we trust!
Time to savour a week of not being media bashed, put the feet up, crack open another can of amber fluid and watch a replay...again!

Anyone got any tips, hopes or rumours of who is going, staying or coming, supposedly all happening this week?

I think Laurie and Staines will go, they can see there FG spots have evaporated.

I believe Staines will stay TM, he offers more than Daino. I thought Staines was going to lock down the fullback spot until he got injured and Bula burst onto the scene.
Staines could just about cover most backline spots. He plays with speed and all heart.....playing on with that serious injury typifies his guts...no pun intended.
The big factor in resigning anyone moving forward will be $.
Staying out of cap trouble is paramount since we've battled our way out of this prob for years.
I've stuck by Noffa and copped heaps but his last game against Cowboys showed what the Storm saw in him and what I know he's capable of. I'm interested in your thoughts about him.
Do you think he'll make way for others like Staines, Feledy, AJ etc?

Can someone advise me about the forum. I've not long joined and I can't read my messages as it says I don't have the necessary permissions even though it says I've got 7 unread msgs.
Can't see the thumbs up icon either nor can I PM anyone. Is all this because I need to make a certain amount of posts to get more permissions?
Please help someone, Nutz is going...Nutz 🤣

Agree but my thoughts about my comment was he probably can see it’s going to be hard cracking FG now that Bula has arrived can’t see where he could fit baring injury and would he want to play 2nd grade while he’s waiting for an injury? Not doubting his capabilities.

Yep agree. When Staines first got here I thought here comes another COE cup std footballer but I've warmed to his effort.
As far as a utility reserve goes I think AJ has the edge on him because of his build. I think we still have a need for speed and Charlie fits the bill.
I see your point about him not wanting to be in reserve grade but performing and getting a contract should be his priority and that could work in our favour in our push to get that elusive top 8 spot...... I'm a dreamer I know, that's why my mates call me Nutz 😉
