On topic. Not going to bag the OP because some rumours have been posted by him. They are presented as rumours and not 'inside info' exclusive only to him as many others on here are wont to do, or as 'official' when they aren't.
However in all fairness it's nothing new, we've seen all these before so it's just the recycling of a variety of rumours at worst, confirmation that the rumours are doing the rounds at best. The OP doessn't have enough cred to have faith in their voracity, or for that matter enough history to have lack of cred. He certainly doesn't have a background of paying out on Saints players willy nilly by my recollection, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me for now. So it's just a matter of 'time will tell' unless some reinforcement comes along to verify or negate any or all of them.
What I will bag is those who seem prepared to believe the worst at the drop of a hat and are happy to buy into any anti Saints pap that presents itself. Maybe not deluded, but weak as piss. Purportedly Soward did in fact wait in the tunnel to shake some of the players hands so the story seems to be a beat up. Yet on here we have some of our own happy to buy into the negative immediately and pay out on him for it. A faithless few for sure, but a few too many.
On Pearce. I must also be deluded, and in fact have been for some time. Will say it up front as I have before, I'm an admitted Pearce sceptic. Seen nothing for years at any level, including club, to conclude that he is anything other than a solid first grader with a decent kicking game (at times), solid defence (most of the time) and absolutely no game or creativity at the line (at any time). Will come at too high a price, with too much baggage, with a piss poor attitude and a proven inability to step up when required (such as SOO time and GF time). If I was State selector he wouldn't be a SOO halfback, Peter Wallace would. But that's my anti Pearce bias on show for all to see.
If the rumours turn out to be true and he joins our club I hope I'm proven 100% wrong. I just think that those bemoaning our lack of creativity in the halves and seeing Pearce as the answer are the ones suffering the delusion. However if he joins Saints he will get my full support and I won't be on here bagging him if he turns out to be an expensive salary cap thief providing little benefit to the team. Indeed, if he turns out to be great I'll be on here to get my serve of humble pie.
