The thing letting us down atm is the crappy defence, Merritt has to go .. he'd have to score 3 tries a game to make up for the 2 he lets in , how many has he scored this season. Bring back Rieck .. at least he can score a try !

Your kidding mate.What game did you watch last week.Merritt missed Mogg but he wasn't the only one who missed Mogg.Merritts defence is what is keeping him in the team it's his offence that is suffering.McGoldrick missed 2 tackles that led to tries and Franze was pathetic in defence.The game will be replayerd on fox on thursday,have a look at the defence of most of the team and then pull your head in and blame someone else.

Bird is only 20 ... he is still developing his game, he is the ideal player to have outside a plymaking half back

As for Merritt .. his defence stinks, and his attack is ordinary to say the least ! ... and i have watched the game, a couple of times actually.

BTW what do you guys have against Bird .. for a 20yo i think he is coming along nicely, the Bird bashers are probably the same ones who were Kimmorely bashers as well.

Thats right thus far a 20yr old 5/8 has not shown he can cut it in first grade .... cuts it a bit better than several older players in the squad i would say

I would not be surprised to see a Bird/ Aitken halves combination when the team is announced this afternoon. I would be willing to run with it because the way i see it is there are not too many other options.
Sully on last weeks performance is a hooker and will either start their or come off the bench IMO.
Aitken proved he deserves another shot after last week. He has had one strong game but he has to back and produce the goods again (ill be interested to se the forum reaction if he has a shocker).
I do not see many other options as a 5/8. I think the Gallen experiment has reached its used by date and he should revert back to the forwards. Dalla has been warming the bench in a struggling PL side and Penriths second rowers would snap travis burns in half just looking at him. Bird meanwhile at least has a bit of experience under his belt and maybe a new attitude. It will be interesting to see how he goes if he does play

I forgot about Dumas he could be an option but i think Raper will go with Bird over Dumas. It will be interesting to see the halves no doubt.

In your opinion ... I thought Kimmorely was the supersigning, maybe i was reading the wrong paper, I recall you did not have any time for Kimmorely either, hopefully Bird can show you up as well.
