Im with you Downo, should only be playing 1st grade if injuries mean there is no other alternative.
He has had multiple seasons to turn his form around and fix his defensive lapses.
Nothing personal against the guy, he's just not reliable enough and he does not provide enough in attack to make up for his defensive weaknesses.

Hegs will play fg again because JT and the cadre understand that he has a lot to offer the team.

Heres a guy who made 200m+ against the eventual Grand Final winners who smahed the record books against the best team and coach in the last decade.

When his heads screwed on, he can match it with the best of them.

I make this solemn promise here and now.

Hegs will lead us to the promised land.

Years of confusion and darkness will be put right.

I believe in Shannon Heggarty and I always will.

If there was a human symbol of our club, it would be Hegs.

No matter how badly he played last week, he swallows his pride, he stretches out to his full height, lifts and goes into the battle the following week, glady and without blinking.

I might add, for what its worth, that its been a sincere pleasure to have you in the trenches with me on this occasion.

We are surrounded, but I am sure that we can handle it.

Hegs is not like the other players, he is an enigma.

People need to liberate themselves from the abaltross around their necks. Hegs will push through like he did at the start of last season when he just about our only player having a go and realising his potential. The year isnt over and people forget this stark fact. But not us and the people at the club who count. They are on our side as well.

Points will gather again for Shannon Heggarty.
