Chin up mate. It’s not like we missed out on Bellamy or Bennett. We missed out on Ryles…the bloke didn’t want a challenge (and there’s no greater challenge than turning the dragons around) it shows that he wasn’t up for the job and he would have failed…so f**k him…let him take the easy route.

Thanks @R&WTILLIDIE ... lets see who they settle for out of hornby and young...

They may even bring back the longest serving coach in our club history... or renew Hook...

Lets see who is the last man standing for the poisoned chalice...

I cannot believe they stuffed up again..that's the issue...we always end up with Plan B C D E..

We never land our target

Anyway...if we end up with the spoon, it will serve them right...

We as supporters deserve more than what is being dished up by our club...

Any blame for this is solely on Ryles in my book. Yes the Roosters gave him their blessing, but after what happened firstly with Holbrook, and then O'Brien leaving like they did, with only Craig Fitzgibbon seeing out his contract before leaving to go to the Sharks, my club had every right to be upset about Ryles breaking his word.

That said, they were not stopping him from going to the Dragons at all. So him not signing with the Dragons has little to do with the Roosters and more to do with Ryles than anyone else, and possibly the Dragons board (as we don't know why he turned the job down). I had heard on NRL 360 on Monday James Hooper reckoned they offered Ryles a 4 year contract, so whether it was the length of the deal that was the only issue, I have no idea (and that's assuming Hooper was accurate in what he said).

You can polish a turd all you like but it will always be a turd and that’s what the dragons have become. When the peanut was sacked they had three applicants, Hook , Furner and Young. Today we are in an even worse state however there is light at the end of the tunnel and it’s the f**king train about to destroy us.

Man this is devastating. I’m in a dire mood today knowing that we will sign Dean young on a 3 year deal and the nightmare will continue, nothing will change it will be like the hook years all over again but with worse players. The club I have supported for 34 years is an absolute laughing stock with no hope whatsoever in sight, we can’t even lane a rookie coach. What player in their right mind would come here.

The media needs to own the fake news it has been delivering. At no point has the club indicated it wanted Ryles. Pure speculation. Media are spinning it like a Dragons fail but it is more a reflection on the media and their willingness to fabricate.

Honestly, what a limp, impotent board we have.

Look at the Roosters or Storm, their boards would have identified who the right person was for the job and gone out & got them.

None of this making an announcement & asking for applications, then taking weeks to make a decision, faff around and not land their target.

Initially take the time to draw up a hit list, conduct your due diligence. Identify who the person and make it happen quickly.

In the words of dubopov LOL’de f**king LOL.

I wonder which conditions the board rejected that made Ryles go "nup"? Eitherway, he knows what success looks like and he must not have thought this was the spot for it. This is just embarassing

If the latest developing article from James Hooper is correct (up on Fox Sports now)...

I'm not sure who is the bigger fool ?

Our board for offering an untested rookie coach a $800k per season x 4 year deal ?

Said candidate rookie coach for rejecting an $800k per season x 4 year deal (wouldn't have to move home either) ?

We are, now officially, a basket case !!

Another one bites the dust ! Our mob are bluudy useless , “ however there are still talks taking place behind the scenes with others “ ? ? ? - according to Mr. Webb .

Whomever the unlucky individual is that the Dragons acquire will undoubtedly take the team from the bottom of the NRL drain , give them a thorough wash during the off- season and bring them back as the true premiership contenders that they are .

And pigs fly !

Good day to you gentlemen , too much suffering from this mob masquerading as a NRL club for me .

I got to say I just heard the news now I'm amased he rejected the Saints offer, he was offered a 4 yr deal and decided to take on a role at the Storm seriously I didn't think Ryles was that dumb.
