I was dead wrong about Ponga being a 5/8 and Best ever reaching his potential at the club, but one thing I did get right is O’Brien as a coach.

On the team’s current form he’s earned the extension that he was after, although I would be waiting to see how the season pans out.

DT reporting AOB going to offered massive contract extension which will make him the longest serving coach in club history
I think that's premature to go all-in, but he has earned an extension nonentheless. From a birds eyeview, we really started performing when the pressure was well and truly applied (as it deserved to be at the time). Taking that pressure off entirely on the back of a single run of form seems a little risky, but it is what it is.

All he needs is a 12 month extension to equal Hagan’s 6 years at the club. If they are looking to extend him a further two years to 2026, I think he’s well and truly earned it.

This part makes no sense. “At the moment, O’Brien’s deal is through to the end of 2025 with that extending to 2027 if he signs the Knights’ contract extension.”

“Massive Extension” is 2 years. Not so massive.

Right term to be honest. Deserves an extension, however 3 seasons is a long time in rugby league.

The Code version says current term is 2024, extension for 2 years (so 2026).

Never doubted O'Brian, not even for a second. Always had faith he'd turn this club around. Should be signed for life!! Haha.

Glad he has proved us wrong and turned the club around. It's fun supporting a winning club again. Hopefully the first thing he does after the extension isn't getting hammered away in New Zealand!!

I would have waited to see how we go to start next year. You see a lot of teams have a purple patch at the end of the year then fall into a heap the following.

2 years is ok though, and it seems we have some real good assistants at the moment as well who will likely be happy to stay with AOB at the helm.

Small-ish extensions are fine. I don't think now is the time to be doing it either, though.

Probably needs to be done for a bit of certainty before November 1. It will mean we have something to sell potential recruits on.

2 years is the right amount of time.
