Sack Adam O'Brien

This bloke’s negligence has likely now lead to our best player being out for most of the season, needing surgery and missing origin.

Needs to be sacked asap. As does the medical team.

AOB is probably loving this though. We weren’t making the finals anyway. He can use Ponga’s injury as another line of excuses.

We obviously don’t have specifics of the injury but he couldn't run properly from the get go and hip flexor injuries are known to change movement patterns putting pressure on the lower limbs. It’s not that much of a stretch.

I’m probably over reacting in anger but I really hope there’s an investigation as to whether there was an impact and whether it could have been avoided. Really bad look that he was limping out of the tunnel from the get go.

Yep, i'll take the NRL Physio's word for it. If it's an impact/trauma injury then there's stuff all you can do about it, just unlucky.

it was said KP was limping from the hip pointer before injuring his foot. Given how important he is to the team - Why not just rest him against the Dogs?

The other thing to note is that these guys are all pretty banged up. Just consider what they put their bodies through on a week to week basis. Most of them are playing with various minor injuries or niggles and it’s extremely common in this sport for players to be out there on the field at less than 100% fitness. To put that all in AOB isn’t fair.

Let’s not forget Cooper Cronk played a whole grand final with a busted shoulder from the prior week. He barely touched the ball and was only on the field to direct the team around. I think more than anything it was mainly so he could go out on a high and get a fairytale ending to his career.

I mean if we’re talking sackable offences surely something like that ranks higher than KP being on the field with a hip issue that the club physio clearly thought he could play through.

This is his 5th year in charge. He inherited quite a healthy roster.

He has another 3 years? so 8 years all up.

Half way through his time at the Knights and I really dont see an improved identity or deep ingrained winning culture. Forget the other stuff, that's secondary.

Winning percentage puts him 7th out of 10. He's outperformed only Brown, McMahon and Rick Stone out of fulltime coaches we've had.

He has the 3rd most wins but also the 3rd most losses.

He is mediocre at best.

Yeh that's a fair statement. He had a fair roster to build on when he arrived ( the club has failed to improve the squad ) , and more resources than most coaches we've had.

The club needs to make any excuse to punt AOB now. Idc what it is. Make one up. We're not going up until he goes out.
yep we should have punted him and got Flanno. He'll work wonders with the Saints.

Maguire type character is what's needed at the Knights. Players come and get waaaay to comfortable being mediocre.

Who are we replacing him with? I’m happy to give him the flick but need a ready made replacement and there seems to be bugger all out there.

I know this thread is about O'Brien but I was thinking yesterday how much Pearce leaving set us back. With him and Ponga we made the 8 twice and the rest of the team/coaching wasn't even that good.

Even a Fogarty/Trindall level half would do wonders for this current team.
