Sack Adam O'Brien

Is anyone in favour of keeping O'Brien? Look at what Ricky Stuart is doing at Canberra in his 12th year in charge, and compare to the Broncos who haven't improved after sacking Walters for Maguire.

Very keen to see the back of him if we can find a good replacement. But yeah, I’m aware there’s not a heap of options.

I think O’Brien himself makes it less than unanimous. Probably doesn’t deserve the casting vote, though.

The draw into the finals is a gauntlet. It is funny cos we usually get a soft run home. Ironically had this been last season he’d likely be gone under the criteria in his contract. The spoon is very much a possibility. So depending on where you land on him being sacked and getting another spoon, you’ll not find much upside.

This might sound nuts but I genuinely think it’s the best thing for team that we can’t sneak into the finals this year (even if injuries have contributed).

The late runs into the finals most seasons AOB’s been here have painted over the huge issue with our starts. The coaching team need to learn something from it, adjust the off season, and start the season completely differently next year. Especially given we’re going to Vegas, we really don’t want to keep playing our worst football at the start of seasons.

Draws are always going to be different, sometimes we are going to get the worst games at the end of the season and more key injuries, and we need to be able to prepare for that by getting some more wins earlier in the year.

To be honest, how we’ve played in the last few weeks, at full strength we’re probably easily a top 8 side, but it doesn’t matter if they drop so many games early in seasons.
