I know mate. I tend to look for positives even when sometimes they aren't there...Crush, I remember your good self being extremely optimistic about both Mary's abilities and the team... this year!

Lets hope next year he improves or gets fired then hey! There have never been any positives with Mary ...unless you count being held to zero at Kogarah twice for the first time in Dragons history....or being the 2nd team since The Titans to be leading the comp in round 8 and then miss out on the 8....
Oh hang on..a positive..he's an old boy and bleeds Red and White.

He's clearly nowhere near the top coaches but we have been playing with the worst halfback in the competition. Yes you can say that was his choice to play McCrone at halfback but even still there weren't many better options. Mann should have played the whole season at half maybe but he also seems like a confidence player. Great one week poor the next so not sure he would have been a quality half either. He has a better squad next year...and should have been retrenched already. The main point being will we win a Premiership with Mary in charge. I say NO...so why keep him.

Lets see next year. Its a win win I think. If Hunt is the missing link and we are playing deep in the finals then thats best case scenario. If even with Hunt at half Mary cannot chalk up the wins then fire him and get someone in in 2019 that will still have a quality side to work with.
Win Win mate!
The only thing to fear next year is if we scrape into the 8 and go out week 1. That would suck because the board will be satisfied enough not to fire Mary yet it will be a disappointment in the fans eyes. We need top 4 and deep into the finals or miss the eight altogether to get the result that will satisfy us fans IMO.Love your optimism but I cannot see it as a win/win...Again..Can we win a premiership with the Current coach? I say no...While he is in charge we are wasting time in terms of trying to win a premiership and before you know it we will be in rebuilding phase again...each team has a limited window ( unless your the Storm or Roosters / broncos ) and we look like we are heading into that phase...Get a real coach and we are a chance. Otherwise, again another wasted opportunity.
I don't want to wait another 32 years before we win a premiership.

I'll go out on a limb and say most coaches would struggle to get the Dragons to actually win games.
The reason being alot of the players are mentaly fragile they drift in and out of games and make the most fundamental errors and alot of this has nothing to do with coaching its about attitude.
Its obvious some of them have an attitude problem some seem happy to just glide through games without making much of an effort and not afraid of being dropped.
Graham should help in that sense with his no nonsense approach.
Without flogging a dead horse that is the responsibility of the coach to identify(not really hard to)& rectify.I'll go out on a limb and say most coaches would struggle to get the Dragons to actually win games.

They all have the full support of the Board until they get fired.Paul McGregor has the full support of the ST George Illawarra Dragons Football club Board. Lol
If 2018 was McGregor's second year then I would support a "let's see what he can do next year" approach. He's clearly nowhere near the top coaches but we have been playing with the worst halfback in the competition. To quote one of the greatest football movies ever, 'Attitude reflects leadership'.I'll go out on a limb and say most coaches would struggle to get the Dragons to actually win games.
