Well done Paul. RIght now you deserve to be happy and receiving the wraps but it is what happens next that will speak loudest. We ren't falling for this one again but we do have Hunt now and I am starting to really believe things will be different with some proper halves. Forwards and defence in general has been good under McGregor. Now he has some decent halves and he hasn't let us down.

Good to see a few of you guys paying due respect to Mary despite your negative opinions of him in general that’s what you call an objective view good on you guys I know he’s got a lot of detractors and don’t get me wrong I’m not his biggest fan either but calling for his head continuously despite sitting on top of the ladder after 3 rounds I struggle to get, 0-3 on the other hand and it’s open season that’s how it works but I get the feeling he’s growing as a coach and we’ll be a top 4 side this year and I apologise for being positive actually no I don’t

I refused to post a negative here for at least a week!

Would you believe no comment for 48 hours?

How about l send 12 angry Boy Scouts to blow raspberries at him after 12 hours?

Would you sack him right this second though and risk destabilising the team when we appear to be playing with a harmony not seen for years?

Sure sack him if this goes nowhere, but right now in round 3, a sacking does nothing but harm us imo
‘Harmony not seen in years’ is the same harmony we had in the first 12 rounds of 2017!!!

Anywho, in answer to your question I wouldn’t sack him right now!! Not after such a win! But then again, I wouldn’t have employed him in the first place!

If the dragons win the ptemiership this year all those who have consistently given Mary sh!t needs to get down on their knees and suck his d!ck. Seriously. Most men here who would've receieve the same amount of slack as he has here would be hiding in their bedroom wrapped in an afghan that nanna made

I have been a critic of Mary and not ashamed to say that.
But if he continues to have the Saints playing like this I will be the first to eat humble pie.
Having Hunt and Graham might be the missing link
Plus the rest of the squad - good to see Luc looking sharp today. Dare I say he may be inspired by how the other forwards are rolling on like tanks over the opposition..

Whilst it’s still massively early to declare us top 4 certainties, I’ve always said Mary has never had a premiership calibre squad until this year.

Did he have the ability to overcome the deficiencies of his teams in previous years and still make them winners, I would argue no. But when you consider, he’s had to face years with no half, a limited fullback, and a dopey hooker, this explains some of our diabolical performances in recent years.

But really, unless you’re Bellamy, Bennett or Green, what coach can solve this? So you can’t really hang him for that.

End of the day, he’s at worse a fair weather coach who excels when things go well. If we win the comp on this basis, who really gives a shit we have an ordinary coach?

I’ve always thought players primarily win comps anyway.

I think Hunt is exactly what dragons needed. When we beat storm and cowboys then I will give Mary credit.Personally I Think we have got same game plan.Forwards hit it up and bit of ablib footy on the 5th tackle.Hunt has made this better.Do I think we can win the comp.maybe.

Agreed....... we need to beat Melbourne and a few others but today is a good start.
The fact that we went on with it in the second was most pleasing.

Really hope we can smack the Rorters on Anzac Day. That really would be good.

Ok, I'm laying off, this thread till we bomb out, and given the last few years who could blame me for thinking we might.

However, this team seems different this year.
Maybe it's down to the experience of a leader like Graham, the skills of a decent half like Hunt, or maybe, just MAYBE, Mcgreagor has been on a learning curve and has got the team believing in his and thier own abilities.

Whatever it is I like it.

so I'll lay off this thread till round 16 and rethink my attitude to our wonderfull coach then.
