Not being close to what goes on behind the walls of the dressing room, training paddock, team bus and the like it's not always apparent to the average fan how the players and coach interact. Mary always alludes to the closeness of the group.

With the biggest of 4 straight massive falls from grace, you can sense in the snippets of media that the players are beginning to lose faith in their coach. The criticism of not resting after Origin and just a basic bewildered look on the player's faces gives a little way. It's getting harder and harder to defend their performances.

The team has proven it is possible to be a force in the competition but they'd also know by now it isn't under this imposter of a coach.

It's definitely on the board for not making the right decisions, re-signing him prematurely and not giving him the boot when he left us in disrepair. As for him - had he got out a bit earlier when he could see he wasn't able to cut it, he may have been able to go learn a thing or two and return to first grade coaching. Now he has effectively ended his senior coaching career. A Broncos thumping in the finals will be the final nail in the coffin of his reputation.
