Mascord's reply doesn't surprise me....Did you try Andrew Webster ?......Surely he can see things for what they are and being a Dragons fan may take up the Banner....

I emailed A. Webster, in a very diplomatic letter, requesting his views, along with asking why McGregor is not being discussed with such a poor record.

I sent thru a follow up..... nothing.
I am still waiting for a reply.

I've lost all respect for Webster.
Not because he chose not to reply but because he did not have the courtesy to acknowledge my email and saying that he'd prefer not to comment.

Speaking of poor records, there are reports that Garth Brennan's days at the Titans are numbered after a review of his and the teams teams performance. Kevin Walters is apparently the favourite to replace him, with Bennett stating he is prepared to make a comeback as QLD coach if asked. This could start another coaching roundabout. Who knows?....is there an opening.......PLEASE!

Poor old Gold Coast Titans, we have always had a poor run up here and with Walters possibly being appointed, it will only get worse.

Kevie is a decent sort of chap but like McIdiot, he couldn't get himself shagged, even if he owned a brothel. No idea how to coach, hence he tried to win the Broncos job on passion alone.

The board dont meet until next week to discuss when then the recommendation will come from no other than Big Mal..who is experienced in conducting internal club reviews...really did i just write that
But where there is smoke...it is a wonder the Gold Coast has failed time after time

Well, he’s won I think only 7 of the last 24 games. The club fails to be in the finals for the majority of his tenure, capitulates to teams like the dogs in must win final season games, hell the list goes on and on. If you can’t see it then we can’t help you.

McGregor couldn’t identify the talents of Ruben Garrick even thou he was in his very own back yard yet des Hasler from the other side of the bridge saw his talents , know doubt McGregor is clueless and doesn’t like the young kids coming through with a preference for old boring has beens instead , the fact Hasler sat out a year and this dinosaur dragons management didn’t move on him yet resigned McGregor again says a lot about why the place is a shambles run by idiots with know idea or a demand for success
know equals no idea

The Dragon's Old Boys Mafia must snigger when they read reports like that . A review which actually finds fault with coaching and performance ?!

Yeh but as i said Gold Coast have been a basket case from poor leadership and management for how many attempts now. Is Mal the saviour...me dont think so.
I dont believe he should be held in as high regard as an administrator or even coach extroadinaire as he is. As a player undoubtable legend.
I think Gold Coast a heading down a no return path...again regardless of new wealthy ownership?..or just new ownership!
Except for the Dragons most rugby league sporting boards these days outsmart themselves by having too many diversified people from all walks to run a club and there in lies a big problem for some without a waelthy owner.
Dragons have some footy smarts (well most) but dont know how to make or want to make the hard decisions on what to do next and usually take the easy..lets get a clubman in option.

At Last someone is raising the issue and this bloke has played under him . Good on you Sowie

But it is the early season re-signing of coach Paul McGregor that has left Soward scratching his head - in six years at the club he has only made the finals twice and the side is underperforming in 2019 after a solid campaign last year.

"You are wondering why some of these coaches are re-signed, it amazes me considering that none of them were being chased and it's not a personal attack but what do you look for, what do fans want and what is a pass mark for St George this year," he said.

"Canterbury are last and have re-signed their coach to an extension; Brisbane are 14th have Seibold with five years; St George re-signed Paul McGregor and they aren't in the top 8 either.

"I've had Mary as coach, and the issue I have is do you get the best person for the job or do you get a clubman."
Good get love your handle DP was one of my favourite players in the late 60s an era when fullbacks chimed into the backline and everybody toe poked the ball when kicking for goal but enough of the nostalgia .
Thursday,s game was good but the problem is we would have played no differently with all our origin players back in the side it is always head down backside up and against full strength sides the forwards are cannon fodder and will continue to be unless something changes . I do not think that the players choke or have in the past but what they are capable of and what they are coached to do is the 2 different things.
We have 2 players in the top 50 in offloads (NRL stats) no forwards Hunt & Lafai ) and no one in the top 50 for players in support as pointed out in another post earlier yet we have 3 origin forwards and 2 backs where is the creativity ?
Since 2014 from round 13 onward we have won 26 games lost 37 and gained points from 6 byes , we have won more games than we lost once 2014 7 wins 6 loses 1 bye broke even 2018 6 wins 6 loses 1 bye and scored 1199 points and conceded 1368 pts and have conceded more in every season except 2014.
We cannot claim injury suspension witchcraft or any other excuse for our dismal back end blues the one common denominator is the coach and his underlings ,in his time he has bolstered his roster to what you would think is a pretty good outfit 5 SOO players at the moment but mediocrity still beckons this season we have become ALSO RANS.
No it is not talent that is stopping us.
