We went from being the chokers, to the laughing stock and soon wooden spooners. If not this year under McGregor then the next.

This could have all been easily avoided. McGregor is a great person no doubt, but an amateur coach who doesn't understand St George culture, but the men in charge of his re-signing are the true villains here.

Having said that, St Kilda's (my AFL club, don't judge) coach, Alan Richardson, after a few failing seasons has taken it upon himself to quit, rather than be sacked. I wish our man would have the same consideration.

I feel flashbacks to season 2016 big time. At this time in 2016, the side was actually on 8 wins and 8 loses, in comparison to the 6 wins 10 loses that is in 2019.
I have a bad bad feeling that Idiot will stay on as coach, they'll conduct some "review", like they did in '16, and they'll come out and say; yeah season 2019 wasn't good enough, but you know, we had De Belin out, we had a lot of injuries throughout the year, Origin fatigue, excuses, excuses, excuses.
Mary will get off to a flying start in 2020, and just fall short of the finals again, but hey, that is a success for the board.
The 2019 season seems to be a lot similar to that of 2016, and I feel as though 2020 will be similar to 2017.
BUT, I hope I am wrong!

I don't get it.
Are they more worried about the half a mil they are saving on McGregor's salary each year?
If it is, it is a huge false economy that is back firing badly.

Correct....they just seem to have this False notion that McGregor is a "Career Coach !

Did someone hypnotize them and tell them this nonsense....

Nothing personal against McGregor ( he was one of my favourite players )....

He just doesn't cut the mustard as a 1st grade coach...ANY FOOL CAN SEE IT.

Did anybody go to McGregor's 'Tribute' lunch at the Novotel at Wollongong beach last Friday week? Mary's sports journo mates must have been forced to sign non disclosure agreements before they could get their hands on the free booze as I haven't seen a peep about it in the media.

I signed up.and I just sent an email to the club. just my opinion, trying to be cicil

have been a supporter of this great club since the sixties and attended nearly all games at Kogarah. I have some medical issues that prevent me from attending games now. However, I never miss a game on Fox.

It is very hard for me, as a supporter to watch the demise of our club over the past few years.

One of the main issues is with our coaching staff, none of the coaches are anywhere near the standard required to coach successfully in the NRL.

Paul McGregor is not of the standard required to coach any first grade side. Prior to this year the team was in a position to go deep into the finals but fell away at the business end of each season.

He has shown very little in having any plans to compete at the highest level. His plan is virtually take the ball up for five tackles and then kick and hope for a mistake.

There are players in our team that under perform repeatable but are never dropped, this has been going on way to long. We, as supporters see this and naturally frustrated with the selection process.

His use of the bench is beyond belief, how many times does players get on the field with less then ten minutes to play.

I believe that the CC coach should be preparing his players be given the opportunity to play first grade.

This is not happening and those players leave the club and even now are holding down first grade spots at their new club.

I would request that the Board bring in someone, who has no connection with the club to assess all facets of our coaching, recruitment and player retention.

It would be great if the Board approach Gus Gould or someone like him to be given the position.

If we continue to just roll along as we are now doing we will never restore the pride in our club, We need to see a cultural change across the whole club.

Very well said, 2010.
Good luck with your health, too.

I believe a good indicator as to Mary losing the team will be Graham, if he isn't fired up, waving his arms around yelling shite know one can understand, then we are in a worst position than I thought. Would be a monumental effort breaking that mans spirit.
I think Graham will fire up regardless of the situation. He’s a natural professional & passionate person.
