If the chairman (or any Board director) was to step down, does anyone remember who the next eligible Director to fill the vacancy would be? That is, who finished 8th (or 9th) in the most recently held Board elections?

Probably Riddel but he won't see the light of day, I think NRL needs to step in and give us whoever they want to fix it..

I agree, the NRL need to dovetail their agreed governance changes into any Board resignation or otherwise that might occur now. By having agreed to not taking the 4 points off us at the start of this season, those suggested changes (whatever they are) must be considered signed off and in effect?

Bring on the NRL takeover - the only thing that will keep us Fitz and Spags free!

x 2 but I'd like Parra people on the Board. I think Gronk mentioned John Quayle, Id also like Sterlo. Those type of people backed up by savvy businessmen/ women. Independent board would be better than a NRL DICTATED board IMO.

He won't step down from the PLC so there is probably no correlation to the previous elections... and if he did, the PLC Board can have a quorum with just 4 directors anyway so it wouldn't matter.

He's a maggot we all know that but we're not exactly doing ourselves any favors by giving him attention..f**k him

What is really getting up everyone's nose is that you can't tell any of us, that exactly the same sort of issues are at every club, the great Gus even suggested as much

The difference obviously is the nutters prepared to sacrifice the club at the altar of their so called brilliance

Next question, what good is Shoebox as apparently his expertise was used to go through and ensure there were no problems, or because they were done in 2013/2014 he had to leave them,

I don't know who suggested it, but perhaps our club could say that until all clubs are scrutinised forensically like we are, we should have any punishment deferred

i'd wager nothing comes of this and the DT know it

Kent wrote in his article that speed was important and NRL had to do something before the Cowboys game with no investigation done by the NRL as the DT had supposedly proven it already

that's when you know the DT have nothing when they don't want the NRL to investigate their claims

this is what i'm talking about

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp... dailytelegraphnrlndm (Daily Telegraph | NRL)

Speed is the key for the game.

Already the game has taken too many days to find answers to allegations Parramatta discussed cheating the salary cap according to their boardroom minutes and then, according to on the record testimony, went through with it.

The investigation should have ended before tonight’s game against North Queensland.

Due process and all that is no compensation for the Cowboys if they lose two points tonight against a team that could soon be found to be deliberately over the salary cap.

How long will it take?

They play North Queensland on Saturday and Canterbury next Friday and then the Wests Tigers the following Sunday.

The game’s integrity should always be our first priority.

That Grant needed to get involved reminds us again that the game needs to find a chief executive soon.

The game needs a boss.

Brent Reed said it himself on triple M last week when he revealed that he chatted to un named ceo at another club who told him that you'd have to be a fool to think that this sort of stuff with TPA's doesn't happen at other clubs... Our problem is that we just don't have directors that are street wise and experienced enough to keep us out of the limelight...this board needs to step down.

As far as I understand it the Shoes role was to ensure we are / were compliant from the time of his appointment onwards.

If we are shown to have no questions to answer in our current roster, I'm guessing he's done what he is supposed to do.

Yep when push comes to shove I think and sincerely hope that the chairman does the right thing..

I was told last night that we haven't quite hit rock bottom yet...

So you are saying it is all true and the NRL are investigating and it will get worse before it gets better? Is that what we should read into it??

I've been told it will get worse before it gets better from someone very close to the club... I don't know anything else.

I'm not doubting it, I'm just genuinely questioning. So I take that it is all true and we are f**ked and there is more.....

Jake will be frothing at the mouth with the prospect of hammering Sharp some more.

It's all the media's fault really.
The club has never done anything wrong ever, unless Spags was in charge.

Have you read the minutes they have referred to though?

It's far from clear that they intended the meaning that the Fitzgerald / telegraph / miscellaneous whiteanter campaign has attributed to them.
