All Souths fans -" We signed Sam Burgess!!!! Huzzah!! we will release walker, grant, grevhsmuhl, sign a budget hooker, rely on a budget backline and string all our plays together with a ball out the back to a one legged fullback. Will be absolutely fine. Top 4!" R20, Doyen, alien live happily ever after

Most other NRL fans are f**king perplexed at the sheer insanity of the situation but it all makes sense to them.

Keep the faith.

Goodwin was our best last season.

We will get rid of McQueen and force out Grant too.

Plus we may send Grevsmuhl to Penrith early.

That should be enough for Sam.

So if you lose Walker, Grant, McQueen and Grevsmuhl to fit in Burgess for next year, you still need to nominate 3 others to make up your top 25. Are the other 3 blokes just going to play for nothing?

The whole thing stunk from the get go. I've no doubt big Richo is taking calls from Rusty right now and Richo will have it all signed off by his pals at NRL HQ by lunch time tomorrow...

I feel some serious lols emerging from all of this. Tearing up an entire squad to accommadate Sburgess seems dangerous.

We've released one player that has was offered 600k to play in a foreign position.

Luke and Stewart were gone long before Sam signed.

i never said to get rid of any of those players. cook will go fine at dummy half as will carter off the interchange. gi, aj, auva'a, keary, reyno all in the backline - hardly a budget backline. gi shouldn't be as worn down if he is managed better around origin time. sam burgess was supposed to only be using $500,000 of the cap for his first year. letting go of stewart and luke saved around $1,200,000 of the cap. cook and oldfield wouldn't be on much. walker was on $250,000 for 2016. i have also heard the cap has increased for 2016. it might only be mcqueen or grant that needs to be let go, and tbh both of them haven't played their best consistently for a while now anyway.

Souths have taken a hard stance and stated that taking a couple more prescribed pills than your meant to is not on. Docking pay and ultimately ripping up your contract.

Meanwhile bashing your ex partner is apparently rewarded with a new 3 year contract

it wasn't dylan's first time he broke the rules, and he asked for a release

auva'a got suspended for around 20 weeks, and only got re-signed because he has done the right things since

Seems like someone at HQ woke up, because even after shafting Walker your adopted club still needs to shed.

could be the case of his contract being back ended, but they might want it spread evenly over the 3 years now, which would mean for next year walker had to be released, and grant or mcqueen might have to go as well.

as far as grevsmuhl is concerned, i thought he was only going to penrith starting from 2017. he was/is still under contract with souths for 2016, but maybe he will be the other one who is let go

if a club is going to sign one of the best forwards in the world, then usually some players are going to have to go

I appreciate the use of detailed, accurate figures and your insight into how much someone received, was due to receive and what was available to be paid.

Do you do tax also? Way behind and missed my October deadline.
