There is no uproar. Souffs would be over the cap if the NRL registered the contract for Burgess, it is as simple as that.

Maybe that's true, but what happens if no club is interested in those plods like Tyrell and McQueen? Or if clubs wont pay for them in full - so I guess we have to subsidise parts of their contracts? So, how many do we release then - 4 or 5?, for big slammin Sam the rugby failure.

I for one am more than happy to have a mediocre season in 2016 if it allows us to build a foundation for greatness in following seasons. Without Sam I wasn't expecting much for next season we weren't going to win the title with our squad but this gives us a much better chance in the following years. Of course this is just my opinion.
I fully expect GI to leave one way or another at the end of the season which will free up a lot of cap space.
People keep talking about the cost of Burgess being astronomical whilst Manly are paying DCE $1.2m a season after he did his U turn. Compared to that Sam seems like a Bargain.
Of course the usual wind up merchants and souths haters will say there won't be a future as Sam the Rugby failure is going to play netball in 2017, but we all know thats not true in reality and if there wasn't a cap everyone would want him in their team along with all the other greats of the NRL.

Players move because the club they are at does not value them as much as the club they are going to.

The salary cap is about total spend on players in any given year. It has nothing at all to do with trying to encourage players to change clubs or to choose one club over another.
