Being born and bred in Auckland (moved to QLD in his teens), has played Junior Kiwis and having signed a letter of intent to play for the Kiwis, you would have to say he's a Kiwi.

But stranger things have happened, Mal will be all over him.

Yup typical Queenslanders, he is a kiwi through and through but they still want him.

Josh Papalii and Richard Fa'aoso are QLDers. Ben Hunt doesn't look very Kiwi, and McGuire is half Samoan though not sure if he's switched allegiances.

Can't see Sam getting in ahead of Hannant, Shillington, Scott, Lillyman and McGuire (Parker, Myles and Taylor can also be used). Packer, Matulino, Rapira and JWH are NZ's props followed more closely by McKendry, Tasi and Moimoi. NSW on the other hand will select him - I would choose him, Tamou, Woods and KG with Gallen at lock.

Expect this to be deleted as you modified someone's post. I literally did exactly the same thing with another player and got a notification about it

Old mate's post is safe, he only did it to a Manly player.

Papalii is a Kiwi.. Mal has tried to turn him to the dark side many times but pledged to the Kiwis earlier in the year. Although he grew up in Qld, so could go either way.

It would be a good game, but I think QLD would still have the edge. Too much class in the backs and halves, and the forwards could match anything NZ throw at them. NZ would definitely not be "hammering" QLD.

He used the word 'hammering'

'Hammering' and 'beating' are two very different things.

Correct. All but 5 of the 17 were from QLD. (Uate, Gallen, Lewis, Tamau, Watmong)

State of Origin should go back to how it originally was in the Super League days of being a three way contest between NSW, QLD and NZ.
