Is that a joke? How did he play on with it? I thought for sure it had to be good news.

This is shitty news. He worked so hard to come back and he did so better than anyone could have predicted. That's just not fair.

Really f**king upset for him. He deserved to have some good luck go his way.

I was thinking at the time he got up how Inglis ran 50 metres to score last year with a stuffed ACL.

This looks like the end for Sam. Very sad.

He deserved to have some good luck go his way.

I read the other day that he became the father of two beautiful babies while he was injured, so maybe he did, just not on the footy field.

You can carry on when you tear your ACL. Once the damage is done it doesn’t get worse if you play on. Wallace did his against the Sharks in Bathurst and played on if I remember correctly.

It’s terrible news and it really shows he put in a huge effort on Saturday to play on.

I feel for Sam as he was looking great. With Browne and McKendry out it leaves our front row depth very thin.

That's horrible news - Was really hoping he'd cement spot in the 17 and make a great comeback - Thoughts go out to him, it'd be devastating for the big fella

yeah that really does suck. Best wishes for the big fella!!!!!

From nrl.com

Penrith Panthers veteran Sam McKendry has suffered a devastating third ACL rupture in as many seasons, one that will rule him out for the rest of 2018.

Having played just two games since mid-2016 due to back-to-back knee reconstructions, the former Kiwi Test front-rower re-injured the same knee during the Panthers comeback win over South Sydney Rabbitohs on Saturday night.

McKendry initially played on for another 13 minutes after going down early in the second half of the 18-14 victory, before being sent for scans on the injury on Sunday.

At 28 and with 147 NRL games in a career that started a decade ago, McKendry is contracted to the Panthers until the end of 2019.

This latest blow inevitably casts doubt over his playing future given the seriousness of the recurring injury, as McKendry and the club now seeking specialist medical advice on his recovery.

"It's unbelievably sad news for Sam and his family," Panthers general manager Phil Gould said.

"He has worked so hard on overcoming this injury before.

"It's a huge blow for our club as well. Sam really looked like he was getting back to his best.

"As always we will ensure Sam gets the best of medical advice and care. But sometimes this game just isn't fair."

This sucks for Sam.
I wish him well with his recovery and what ever he does in the future.
On a side note we are now short on props.
With Latu gone, McKendry & Browne injured all that leaves is Leota off the bench unless fish will move to the middle.
Dogs are offering Tolman to any club. I wonder if we could do a cheap deal?

Terrible news, I hope he gets a nice big insurance payout and a role in the training facility.

Yeah you’d think this injury would qualify him for the career ending injuries clause.

Panthers would likely get his contract waved from the cap.

Next year is his last year under contract, I can’t see any club signing him again sadly.

So we’ve got

RCG
Tamou
Leota

And then rookies. Ouch.

I’d say Gus is looking around for another prop right now.

I know JFH has been playing well in the second row but I still don’t mind the idea of him in the front row. It would also give more time to CHN and kikau.
Still it’s a bit light though, someone like dodds from Brisbane would be good or Garbutt from the UK.
Brisbane tend to discard about 2 or 3 forwards every year before the transfer window finishes

Fish will be middle now. Merrin at a push. We have a few uncapped forwards that look pretty good. I dare say we will get a cheapie before June 30
