Not even close. He's getting Inglis and Hayne level pay for performing at an average level. I would probably have him just ahead of Moylan at Panthers, but still wouldn't want him when you have DWZ coming through. Not at fullback anyway.

I doubt anyone with the following fullbacks would swap them for him:
Hayne. Inglis. Slater. Milford. Tedesco. Stewart. Dugan. Barba. Boyd.
He's been better than Barba and Boyd this year. He's also steadily improving as he adjusts to the competition, but he's been very promising in recent weeks. As someone mentioned, seems to have eliminated the howler from his game

Add Morgan to that list, if we're talking value for money and how well they're performing.

I would trade Tomkins for Boyd in their current form. Boyd at his best I probably wouldn't, but we only see it 3 or 4 games a year - none of them for the Knights.

Not sure I agree with that - with Webb we had consistency, and until his injury McKinnon was consistently brilliant...

But yep, he's going better now, hopefully he will turn into one of the best in the NRL - that was the assumption, time will tell

Webb definitely the closest to that mark. McKinnon I won't pay, he was perfectly capable of being a liability whilst obviously his high water mark was above anything else we've had. Locke, even in 2011 I don't recall him being a week in, week out performer.

To me, Tomkins is one of those professionals that will prepare well every week and there won't be a massive difference between his best game and his worst game - apart from the fact he might drop a bomb or two every now and then. Even on Friday when I see he won the voting for the 3-2-1s, he wasn't sensational. He was just very, very good.

Agree with that.

I notice he's very quick to make a tackle in his own line if there's a half tackle break in the line. That's worth a lot IMO. A lot of the small 1 per centers he is very good at. I think with the space the Warriors had under the cap he's a great addition to the squad in so many ways. Seems to be highly determined and professional

Some of his play in the game today was fantastic, i don't think too many players can do what Tomkins does regularly with those tip-on passes.

Can we officially put a line through any shred of cred Mr Anonagronk and Bunniesmong had. Another excellent performance. His passing is world class.

Strongly agreed Tomkins was brilliant today, such poise and vision from an inexperienced NRL player. He has a massive future coming up.

Yep, he's had some amazing passes this season - a couple in that game against the Tigers were as good as the ones tonight. There's been 2 or 3 others in the same class - mostly on the right, but can do it on either side of the field.

Tomkins is world class already. He is just outside the top 5 full backs in the NRL at this time.

FFS if you're not in the top 5 of any position you are nowhere near world class. There are only 16 NRL starting fullbacks. Even you admit he's not even in the top one third of fullbacks in the comp. That is not world class.

At this point Tomkins is a good player. No more than that. He still has fallen short of what he is being paid. The Warriors need him to be world class and he is not world class. That is why getting him is a failure.

Don't go fully loco old son. Your opinion on this topic and countless others has been irrelevant since September 2010. Tomkins is a brilliant pick up for the Warriors.

Its ok, though. Someone somewhere will love the taste of your lol@5ouffs tears.

Warriors finally have a decent coach. Their defence has improved incredibly. Their attack is more disciplined. Watch Tomkins -- in conjunction with Johnson, Leuluai and Hurrell -- start carving up some of the stronger NRL teams now.

Tomkins, urinating in public at a venue near you!

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11262647

Warriors fullback Sam Tomkins has been fined after admitting urinating in public early on Sunday morning in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.

The incident followed the Warriors' 24-16 NRL victory over the Titans in Robina on Saturday night.

Tomkins was issued with an on the spot $A100 fine by local police and the club has also disciplined him with a $NZ2000 fine.

The Warriors launched an investigation after being made aware of the incident late yesterday.

"We've met with Sam and he admits he made an error in judgement," said Warriors general manager football Dean Bell.

"He knows this kind of behaviour is unacceptable."

Tomkins said he was embarrassed about the incident.

"I'm disappointed in myself. I thought I was in a secluded spot but realise I still made a poor decision," he said.

Bell said the matter had been dealt with and no further action would be taken.
