Not even close. He's getting Inglis and Hayne level pay for performing at an average level. I would probably have him just ahead of Moylan at Panthers, but still wouldn't want him when you have DWZ coming through. Not at fullback anyway.

I doubt anyone with the following fullbacks would swap them for him:
Hayne. Inglis. Slater. Milford. Tedesco. Stewart. Dugan. Barba. Boyd.

Last couple of weeks he has impressed me, before that he was f**king hopeless.

I still wouldn't swap him for Moylan.

He isn't worth it right now but I'd give him more time. Fitting into a new playing structure takes some time and more time for a FB than any other player probably, since he is attacking both sides of the field. Add to this the fact that the warriors are the most up and down team on the planet. It must be pretty hard work for him. If he'd joined a team like Manly or Canterbury he would be running off decent halves and playing for an overall competent and in-form team - much easier task than joining the warriors.

Didn't even mention Matt Elliott or his sacking.

I'm a Warriors fan and I think he'll be worth every cent, and he's not even paid close to what most people think he is. A lot of those million dollar a year figures in the media were factoring in external transfer fees, mixed in with a bunch of exaggeration to go with it.

He's been getting better very quickly every game, and made Slater look average on the weekend.

Players of similar quality can be worth more to different teams. I think with the change in warriors attitude he should start looking better

Hell yeah he is worth the transfer fee, his salary and the expectations.

He is a real talent and playing in a spine position. Give him a few weeks, he is progressing quite well as the season has progressed.

Once he clicks with his team and vice versa, Ill be expecting him to be dominating. You could see it in his running style and footy smarts that he is destined to be a star of the NRL.

Easily, he's playing better than Slater and Barba for a start

Slater is washed up and Barba is a headcase, Tomkins is only getting up to speed with the NRL and is getting better every week.

Honest thoughts on his form at the moment, what fullbacks would you rate over him and below him? Would you have him over your clubs own fullback?

This bloke is a serious player, pretty hard to be a shining light behind a forward pack and halves that have been very poor to say the least, he is a gun player make no mistake.

i enjoy watching him play. His positional play is lacking a bit in defence but he will sort it out. Hard to play well behind a pack not going forward week in week out.

I'm quite certain he's on NZ$700,000 a year. I wish these figures were published as they are in the US.

You only have to watch the way Tomkins embraces Johnson when Shaun does something extraordinary, the Pom is a team player and the sooner the Warriors play to his talents the better . . . arrogance is carcenogenic

The forwards and halves played well against Melbourne and Tomkins looked good. No coincidence.

Why we were all prepared to completely judge him in the first 4 weeks is beyond me. It's a totally different competition, he's living in a completely different country, we've offered up a bunch of garbage under a coach none of the players seemed to want to play for - not particularly surprising he's not lit the world on fire.

He's going to bring a lot more consistency than any other fullback we've had, so that'll do me.

Not sure I agree with that - with Webb we had consistency, and until his injury McKinnon was consistently brilliant...

But yep, he's going better now, hopefully he will turn into one of the best in the NRL - that was the assumption, time will tell

Both had their faults though, McKinnon was a penalty magnet and couldn't keep his mouth shut and Webb wasn't always the best under the high ball. I'd have put Locke at the same level when fit (ie 2011 form).
