Sam Tomkins: coming to an NRL club near you

Warriors star Sam Tomkins has been fined by police and his NRL club after being caught urinating in public on the Gold Coast.

The England full-back was issued with an on-the-spot $100 ticket by police over the incident in Broadbeach early on Sunday following his side's 24-16 win over Gold Coast the previous night.

The Warriors said they were made aware of the incident on Monday and slapped Tomkins with an additional $NZ2,000 ($A1,862) fine.

"I'm disappointed in myself," said 25-year-old Tomkins in a club statement on Tuesday.

"I thought I was in a secluded spot but realise I still made a poor decision."

Warriors general manager Dean Bell said the club accepted Tomkins' admission that he made an error in judgement.

"He knows this kind of behaviour is unacceptable," Bell said.

Tomkins left the English Super League to join the Warriors this season and, despite a slow start, has started to show the sort of form that made him a superstar in his home country.

He is not the first Warrior to be disciplined for urinating in public.

Former player Russell Packer was fined $15,000 for his infamous on-field leak at Suncorp Stadium in June last year.

Earlier this month the club fined bullocking centre Konrad Hurrell $5,000 after a sex video featuring him was leaked onto the internet.

Haha. It reads like

"I'm disappointed that I got busted"

"I thought I picked a good spot"

Who hasn't?

If out of the way ant in easy sight it is hardly a hanging offence. Maybe public toilets might be an idea?

Can we drop this subject? It is just pissing me off that a man with such sublime rugby league playing skills should be the subject of attention for his minor off field indiscretions.

Instead let's discuss the prospects of Sam Tomkins playing at five eighth if Shaun Johnson is forced out with injury.

Lolohea will get his long awaited call up. The kid has been waiting for his chance to unleash in FG for some time. Possible future combination with Johnson.
